This totally takes me back to shortly after I lost my job, my wife, and then my home in the span of less than a year and decided to just pack up and move east. On that very long drive, I would pull in to rest stops and grab an hour or two of sleep. I am doing great now, but for some reason, that drive is a fond memory.
This reminds me of one night when I was little as I was going to sleep. There was a soft woosh as the cars passed on a distant road, the crickets chirped out on the lawn, the cooler night air blew softly into the window over my bed, the scent of freshly mown grass drifted in. It had been a perfect day at the park, all blue sky and yellow sun, then miniature golf and chocolate soft ice cream. So long ago when I had no cares or anxiety, my dad and many other relatives were still alive and I was excited to see them all. Sometimes after a long day at a family reunion I would drift off to sleep still hearing their chatter and laughter mingled with the comforting sound of cars going down the highway... Thanks for uploading this.
Most people would call it crazy, but those of us who crew up in a small town (not a small city; a small town) find very few things more comforting than this
Reminds me when I rode my mountain bike down the streets at 30 MPH and I could look to me right and see the highway the seems to span out into the horizon forever. Good ol days, I’m telling you.
I lived 22 years by a the 110 near DTLA and before we were evicted, the last year or so there, things were pretty bad. I sank downhill and honestly never recovered but the sound of the freeway and crickets would always soothe me no matter how low I got there. Reminds me of sleeping with the windows open on a hot summer night with the cool wind. Or winter when i would skate home late at night. The highways would always guide me home. The sound of them and the view of thw buildings navigated me in every distant part of the city. Thanks.
All of a sudden I got reminded of when I was a little kid (until I was 6 or 7) and my grandparents lived within two minutes of the I-5. During that time in my life my parents both worked, so me and my sibling were at their house most of the time on weekdays. Sometimes we'd get to stay the night. We'd sleep in bed next to them and cuddle up. This sound instantly takes me back.
This reminds me of my childhood home. My bedroom was right next to the highway and my bed was right next to the window. I used to sleep with the window open just to hear the beeps and car sounds (with my fan directly on my face ofc). That feeling was so so peaceful.
I live in London, right next to a fairly big main road, so I can usually hear the traffic. I basically rely on the sound to get to sleep. Today, it was bloody cold, so I decided to close my window and lister to this. Wasn’t disappointed. Good job.
All my life I lived on a busy road, my window was almost always open so I’d always hear crickets and cars and people all night it puts me to sleep easily. When I moved to college it was so much quieter than I expected. Sleeping was my biggest struggle and I never knew why till I found this video. I knock out after a minute or so. Thank you so much for giving me a piece of home again.
Reminds me of staying at my grandparent's house as a kid and I would always fall asleep with my windows open and hear the busy street behind the house :)
This town don't feel mine, I'm fast to get away, far. It feels good to know you're mine. Now drive me far away, far away and I don't care where... Love it! Mood of traffics and sounds...
Wheels stay under me...small town girl who dreamed of escaping down that far off highway. And she did! Then she came back years later but that lonesome highway never changed. Always there, always flowing. the river and the highway roll on.
@@matttheman9740 My grandparents used to own a trailer, and my family would often go to the trailer park they had their trailer at. The trailer park was maybe half a kilometre from the 401 which is a busy highway in Southeast Ontario connecting my hometown of Windsor up to around Ottawa maybe, and connected many cities including Toronto, London, Hamilton, and Mississauga. It would be nice falling asleep in the trailer with the distant highway noise, and even waking up to hear mainly semi trucks going up and down the highway. But the part that made it Canadian was the fact that there was always some random guy honking at somebody from BC or a prairie province that somehow made it halfway across Canada with the worst fucking driving skills across the entirety of the Great White North.
This reminds me of when I was there for my birthday and my boys were in my car park and they didn’t even know what they did to me and they were all good and I got the money lol I just bought a bunch more stuff lol I just bought them for you too even lol I just bought them for a few months now so they can have them all over 😆

I would have listened to this whole thing but then there was an ad, and I lost interest, how are you supposed to sleep to that and every now and again it cuts to an ad.😡

i just read ur story 3 times and i (do not) swear, i am not crying...
I have similar memories from my childhood in the 70’s. I long to go to sleep again to the sounds of the traffic from Hwy 54 a half mile from my house.
Covers up my tinnitus and the black screen saves my LCD, many thanks!
I can't sleep without this anymore, brilliant thank you

This is what I hear every night since I live right down the street from the highway.
Everytime I think I've found the perfect video another one comes up
This comforts me for some reason. Though I wish there were some occasional distant honks every now and then.
or a fast driving car, but very far away so it doesn't get to loud.
Ah yes, nothing more relaxing than hearing the honk of a car from some guy mad that he got cut off :/

Install an adblocker extension. I don't make any money from this anyways and I don't control the ads.
DAMMIT, UA-cam! CAN THESE VIDEOS BE EXEMPT FROM ADS PLEASE?!
