- Utah State women's basketball head coach Kayla Ard announced she had been fired just prior to a post-game news conference after 85 to 49 loss to Boise State.
Actually, I though she handled it pretty well and with a healthy dose of class.
What a despicable AD. Why fire a coach and then have them do the postgame interview? Ridiculously unprofessional.
No shi- my first thought AD should be canned
@@TheRounder1980 maybe they told her mid season and let her play out the year.
She should have been fired the season before. Her win percentage was 21% after 4 years. What a good way to shut up reporters though. I hope she can find a position as an assistant somewhere, it takes a special person to be a winning head coach.
How is that awkward? It’s just being honest.
Shut up!
I mean, it’s kinda awkward because you feel bad for her and the reporters probably wouldn’t even know what to ask her after that
I feel bad for the players and fans, they had to endure 4 years of bad losing seasons.
She knew she was getting fired. She coached for 4 seasons & was 24-90 (.211). Her conference record was 10-62 (.139)
If you are a manager and have to fire someone, you know how to do it with dignity and respect. That was not shown here and good luck to her finding another quality coach because who wants to be possibly put in the same situation.
@@rcr-zt4of With respect, you don't know how it was done or when. The only thing you know is she was fired as announced by the coach. The AD could have told her and planned to do an announcement themselves or wanted it to be quiet. Not enough data
@@rcr-zt4of How do you know it wasn't done with dignity & respect? One could indicate the coach didn't need to mention she was fired. Technically, if she was "fired" already, why attend the press conference if you are not the coach. She did it and "aired" the laundry to make the university look bad.
@@kramsemaj7869 Fair enough. We need for all the data to get out.
They coulda at least waited till they got back to utah
Ouch...
Utah State did their women's basketball coach DIRTY.
I might have waited until the next morning before letting her know. Poor timing.
Totally classless on the AD'S part
I won’t be doing the post game conference
Not a good look for Utah State University. This firing certainly wasn't handled well by the university. The coach herself, to her credit, did conduct herself with a lot of class.
Right why not wait till you get back to Utah or at least don't have her go out for a presser
They probably let her contract run out so as to not pay out early termination. Think about it, no one was going to buy this coach out of her contract, and then you would be paying for a new coach and staff while you still were paying off the coach and staff of the last coach in a non revenue generating sport. Please understand the situation before making some slanderous comments.
Had to check and confirm that this is a really new outlet and not a tabloid rag with a story presentation like that. No compassion. Only cringe. Do better
There is NEVER a right time to get fired
Not awkward just intense
With that record she should've seen it coming!
Greetings from Connecticut
Since when do woman coach?
Woe
OUCH
Utah racist abandon it make it a racist prison for repeat offenders
Hilarious.
