Thank you John 😊. Robin did such a fantastic job explaining the Mulready and the Caricatures, that the video just edited itself. Thanks so much for watching!
Graham you have produced so many excellent philatelic videos and this one about the Mulreadys ranks right up there with your top videos. This was absolutely a incredible philatelic history lesson; thank you and thanks to Robin for sharing this wonderful piece of history!
Thank you Gary, glad you enjoyed it. Since learning about the Mulreadys, I have been eager to get Robin on camera to talk about them...super fascinating. Thanks for watching 😊
Thanks for sharing, Graham! The Mulready covers are so beautiful. I love your editing in this episode too, especially the beginning has a documentary feel almost!
Thank you Lisa 😊. Mulready covers are indeed beautiful, especially the used ones with a maltese cross. Glad you liked the editing, I've been experimenting and trying different approaches to keep audience retention, I hope it works.
Thanks Graham and Robin! Fascinating, and a bit humorous - how the public reacted with the caricatures. 😊😊I have never heard of or seen Mulready covers and did not know what to expect from the video. Now my knowledge broadened again. I just love all the "comics" also the original drawings. Each of them tells a story in itself. Thanks again!
😊 Thanks Charnie!! I also learned a lot from Robin while filming this, so many wonderful things that we havent explored yet in this hobby. Thanks for watching!
Graham, this was such a fantastic video to watch. That gent was so knowledgeable and I feel ready to look into collecting these. I now know why my one and only Mulready is a front cover only. Many thanks
Thank you, Graeme! Robin is the best, if you have any questions about Mulreadys, check out Robin's site and reach out to Mulready Philatelics, they are super helpful. Thanks for watching.
Great episode once again Graham, enjoyed learning a lot about Mulready Stationery, it's really a fascinating item to collect. Looking forward to seeing the next episodes. Thank you!!👌😊
I remember you briefly talking about a Mulready that you bought from Robin in an episode (I think several years back?). Very nice to get its own video, this was an amazing episode, thank you!
That is correct!! Yes I think I bought my Mulready maybe 2 years ago? Since then, I have been looking for an opportunity to just do an episode about the Mulready, such a cool topic. Thanks Kelvi.
Same 😊. I also love that they are eager to share their knowledge and discuss their specialty with us. Robin is an excellent teacher. Thanks for watching, Erik.
I enjoyed this. Thank you. I used to collect characature mulready's. Now I am building a collection of Mulready's only, both in the lettersheet and envelope formats.
😊 Glad you enjoyed it! So cool to see a Mulready collector watching the channel, Mulreadys really are fascinating. Robin explained a lot more to me during the filming, but I kept it to be a lighter introduction to the topic, so much more to explore though. Thanks for watching!
Thank you, Rick 😊 keep a look out for them, they can range in price… those caricatures can get pretty expensive though!! Thanks so much for watching :)
Awesome video bro! Lots of love from India..... your videos are very informative and interesting, as far as my youtube search history, i guess your channel is the most trusted by me for philatelic knowledge. Will it be possible for you to make a video on India's 1948 Mahatma Gandhi Postage Stams as those stamps have a very interesting background, a wonderful history and they are a treasure hunt for collectors. I hope you make a video on them.....😀😀😀
I have one used cover, but i is a normal one for 1 penny from 1841 and the appearence is not 100% perfect. It is an envelope and on the backside there is a red cancel for the arrival day. Also a Postage print and a number (A 149).The Mulready envelopes are really interesting and I already saw some of the different ones in the past. There are endless letters in the style I saw from time to time in auctions, which are individual and probably painted (?). May be what was coming after the Mulreadys , I´m not a specialist. In Germany you see from time to time Mulready envelopes, but it is not very often. Some are really expensive, even the original looking ones, but I have no idea what the differences are. I like these envelopes a lot, but they are not that easy to get. I would love to own one of the cartoon ones, but I assume it is easier to get one of these via UK. May be in the future. Very nice topic.
Thanks Kevin!! And thanks for chatting with me 😊 glad to see you got some good items at the show, fingers crossed that the hunt for your Bora Bora girl is rewarded soon!! Thanks for watching.
great video, thank you very much for that! I have started to post some videos on youtube about rare stamps as well, mostly showing rare stamps which exist in just a few examples. But they are not so expensive. the more people will make videos and promote philately, the better. That is the way how our hobby can carry on! 👍
Are the dimensions of a Mulready 1D letter sheet known? I want to hand draw an imitation to make for a friend, but I haven't been able to find explicit confirmation of any of the dimensions, either of the unfolded sheets or the folded envelope. I want not to over or undersize the envelope in my ignorance, but despite the abundance of examples shown in online archives, none label the dimensions publicly that I have seen.
(To clarify, I am not trying to draw or age it such that it could in any way be mistaken for a real collectors item, I just want to evoke the feeling of receiving a mulready envelope new.)
Sorry for the late reply. I just measured it, then folded front is 13cm wide x 8.5cm high. Finger tip to finger tip of Britannia’s arm span is 26mm I hope this helps!
Congratulations to Graham and Robin on producing such a comprehensive and interesting introduction to the Mulready.
Thank you John 😊. Robin did such a fantastic job explaining the Mulready and the Caricatures, that the video just edited itself. Thanks so much for watching!

This was so interesting! I love all the history and humour in these covers and hope to find some at a show in the future!
Yes and they fit your Victorian collection perfectly. Keep a look out at your next stamp show 😊. Thanks Sarah!!
Excellent very much enjoyed
Thanks Paul 😊 Glad you enjoyed it!

Had no idea about this but of course it all makes sense. The public wants what it wants and rejects what it doesn't. Well done video as always.
Exactly! It’s so funny seeing how the public ridiculed it with caricatures, and some were very well done. Thanks so much for watching, BuzzaWuzza 😊
Well done Robin - and Graham!
Thank you 😊

I love it when dealers specialise. What a nice subject to collect.

Thank you very much. Didn't teach me anything new, but I am waiting for the book!
Thank you for watching, Lawrence.
I have heard of mulready stationery but never got around to it. Very interesting video, educational. Graham you really have a talent for videography.
Glad you enjoyed it. Mulreadys are a fascinating topic. Thanks so much for watching 😊
Great video, Graham. I don't have any Mulready covers, probably too expensive for me.
Thank you, Rick 😊 keep a look out for them, they can range in price… those caricatures can get pretty expensive though!! Thanks so much for watching :)
I’ve known Robin for a few years. Top man very honest and knowledgeable, bought things at stamp fairs from him always gives a discount.
Robin is awesome! As you said he is super knowledgeable and eager to chat with anyone that stops by his stand. Thanks so much for watching 😊

Robin is a great dealer and I learned a lot from this episode 😊
He is indeed! Thanks Richard! And you make a few sneaky appearances in the episode, the eagle eyed viewer will spot you 🤩
@@ExploringStamps Yes. I realised🤣
Nice to spy you, Richard, in the background. Where’s Richard = Where’s Waldo 😂
Awesome 🙂

Great insight into early postal history.
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Hi Graham thanks for chatting with me at Stampex still trying to find the Bora Bora girl, I did get some good finds at the show Kevin
Thanks Kevin!! And thanks for chatting with me 😊 glad to see you got some good items at the show, fingers crossed that the hunt for your Bora Bora girl is rewarded soon!! Thanks for watching.
Shes coming Graham got one from eBay all the way from Australia, cant wait for your next vlog
Funny what prices he considers affordable, but it was great to learn about these covers.
Nice video, when are you making a video on Indian and James bond stamps
Thank you!! …Not sure when I’ll do an India or James Bond stamp video, still working through Stampex videos 🤔. Hopefully soon!
I want to keep Robin in a little jar, he's very charismatic, I was fascinated by the topic.
Thank you Jessica, I'll take that 🙂
