I purchased some C-line Service had bags. It’s big enough to hold more than a package of card stock. I put my scrap pieces in the bag. Helps keep me organized. These are the things used when you get your car serviced. They put your work order and keys in it. These work great for my cardstock organization. They are clear, so you can see the card stock. I purchased on Amazon and got 25 in the box. I think it was $20 or under. Like your layout, too. Thanks.
I have no idea how I came across this vid. But I'm so thrilled that I did! THANK YOU so much for sharing! As soon as my grandson gets picked up, I'm headed to my craft room! Yay meeeee! 😁
I came across your video on UA-cam, again. 2nd time seeing your system. Loved it the 1st time, just more prevalent now. I'm actually working/playing with cards. Finding out, how it's not as easy to make for myself, what I was given by demos at a make/take class. Thanks much for your hard work. Even in a quiet motel rm, I would have gone crazy to even try to complete your wonderful system. Very valuable, one sheet wonder layout. Especially w/5 sizes that can all fit together. WOW. I'm still changing a corner of my family rm, from stacked mess of hoarding/boxes/etc. Into a craft corner. I can't stand not making cards while I organize. So I try to make one, on a lap/tv-tray, & get stuck w/sizes & layouts tripping me up. This will help me immensely. Now I will break, cut up different colors of CS. Then next break, I'll have the cut mats & actually create a card. This means more than I will ever be able to express in words. God Bless You 💗👍😊🌈 My email has changed. Please reply to jokitty123@Comcast.net
BRILLIANT!!! I always thought I was on top of scraps because I always immediately cut them into 5 1/4 x 4" mat sizes. But you have taken it waaaaay further. This is totally amazing and I'll definitely be doing it in the future. thanks for sharing!
When I have a stack of small scraps in plain white or light colors, I stamp out a bunch of Happy Birthdays, etc, and punch them out and put them in a baggie... sometimes I punch out a larger dark label shape to be used behind those. works great and easy to use for a quick card, since I don't stamp a greeting on the cards I stock, until I need them.
Thank you for figuring this out and sharing, I too have a tremendous amount of paper scraps. I love the idea of having my card stock mats organized and ready to use.
This is FANTASTIC!!! I cant thank you enough for this tutorial. I'm fairly new to card making and this helps me tremendously! I just stumbled across this as I was browsing for tips and helpful ideas for card making ideas. Thanks again!
I know this video is literally from last year but OMGEEEE!!! You are a genius and this perfect for a person like me who hates to waste anything lol Tfs
Thank you, thank you! I've always had trouble measuring to use my paper cost effectively. Your pattern is brilliant! Love it. (And thanks to your partner for going to bed early...hahahaha...we might not have benefitted by this idea if he hadn't.) :-)
I love Connie's system but I like yours too. I also noticed that the larger pieces can make mats between them. Also the two bigger small pieces fit well together too. TFS! Nicole from Canada
Hello Ladybug Stampin...thank you so much for sharing...I am so guilty of wasting card stock...but thanks to you with all this very helpful information...no more waste for me...love the video and the way you explain how too...cheers from Australia :)
This is incredible!! Wish I'd seen this when it first came out! (I'm subscribing for sure now!) I have two fat multi-file folded full of scraps!?🤔Love your techniques!!
Great video! My only complaint, and it's not just towards you, is that I miss centimeters... lol. We don't use inches so nothing I own for measuring is in inches... I've tried to convert inches, but I feel that the numbers aren't what they suppose to be... haha!
You made this video 4 yrs ago. I have a file folder for each color. In each folder I have a sheet protector with scraps for that color. I check the sheet protector first before cutting into a new sheet of cardstock in case I have a scrap that will work. You might try that for the scraps you created BEFORE this template. I am curious what storage/organizing system is working for your template pieces now that you have been using it for a while.
Thank you for the PDF I thought your video was very helpful and I enjoyed it.I have subscribed to your channel and looking forward to see much more of you cheers :)
Thanks Karen! I appreciate that. I created this tutorial over two years ago, I am so glad it is helping so many. I need to start a series on using my cuts.
You truly are amazing!! I'm a card newbie and am so glad I came across this video! Do you think you can do this same thing for a 12x12 sheet of cardstock?
I love this! I have been stamping since 1983 and this is a great help. I live in Vermont are you near us? B c I have never met a stampin up person before! In fact my husband and i met over stamps. No one collected them back then. I had some in my purse and He being an artist also collected.them> He has since drawn for a frew stamp companies. I am looking for info on getting a stampin up person. I would love a certain punch. thank you, grace in vt
You can get any SU rep in the USA, be it Her or Linda Balwin or Connie Stewart; they don't deliver to your door - SU does. If you want someone near your place go on the SU website and look for a rep; she/he might even have get togethers, teaching, or making cards in a coffee shop!
Ooh. Can you do something like this for 12” x 12” card stock/paper? I have a TON of patterned paper that I have trouble using up (can’t buy anymore until I use some up)!
card size for A1 = 4 Bar card 5 x 3.5, 1st mat = 4.75 x 3.25, 2nd mat = 4.5 x 3 (wedding/invitation/RSVP) A1 is used mostly in UK I think, but great to use up scraps.

So very useful! Thank you so much!
that's awesome but what do you do with all the scraps you already have that are not 8 1/2 x 11 I have a bunch what size you cut them
I will eventually use them as needed, once I have no more I will switch to my cut pieces.
OK. Thanks
card size for A1 = 4 Bar card 5 x 3.5, 1st mat = 4.75 x 3.25, 2nd mat = 4.5 x 3 (wedding/invitation/RSVP) A1 is used mostly in UK I think, but great to use up scraps.
