I really loved the meeting of franky and Loid. Also how franky pointed out how effective propaganda can be used to alter your perception on "simple" things like one person hitting another. The right context can make you either sympathise with the victim and fuel your hate against the attacker while other context would make you feel sympathatic with the attacker and fuel your hate against the supposed victim.

Since the world of Spy X Family takes place in a time and place resembling East Germany during the cold war (specifically in the 1960s) and Loid's childhood memory was shown to be him crying in a bombed out city I'm guessing that his world's equivalent of WW2 occured during his childhood likely killing his parents leaving him orphaned but that's my best guess.

Same culture as the west just different government system which I'm assuming is socialism with some influence from the societal structure of early Showa Japan. The eastern secret police operates like the KGB but wear SS style uniforms.
Endo-sensei said that he was interested in the cold war and that this story is based off of the cold war, so it was probably ww2. Idk that much but this is a guess.

Besides the name of 007 creator Ian Fleming, it sounds like the Japanese word for "to comfort" and he abandoned the name when he lost all comforts in his life. Since his pseudonyms are lying themed, his last name could have a truth theme, like "Truman" or "Straight".
