For a fiberglass boat that is an incredible tunnel. They did a huge amount of work to put that there with all the extra reinforcing around each bulkhead opening. In the long run it must make trouble shooting an issue easier. A bit like a military boat where everything is exposed for easy repair.( but too ugly for a yacht)
    Cheers Warren

Hi Tristan. Terrific video showing the tunnel. Most larger cargo ships also have the same thing - called the 'Duct Keel'. And because a lot longer would probably have rails along the whole length. Thus enabling travel along using a trolley, that you'd drag yourself through.

I enjoyed that we've seen the guests quarters then crew quarters back of house as such, garage and engine room and now the services tunnel that's got to be all areas now.
Very interesting and to realise it much the same as any home thats mobile with the added consideration of being at sea. I think it would be impossible to have time to be bored as there are alway so many daily, weekly inspections & safety routines. Let alone understanding of all the tech & systems on board guests, hospitality, cleaning, booked mooring, navigation, weather logistics
Amazing job to you and the crew.👏👏👏👏👏👌

Reminds me of the long passageway on cruise ships that runs ALL the way from the bow to the stern, typically one deck below the lowest passenger-accessible deck and just above the waterline. For ships homeported along the U.S. East Coast (and maybe elsewhere), it's been called "I-95" on every ship and cruise line I've sailed on. :)

Great video! However, was wondering about water tight integrity with all that open space. Seems like there should be more water tight doors in between spaces, e.g. if hit by another vessel broad side with breached hull at water line or below? All that space full of water would put the vessel in a massive list. All the pumps running could not egress that much inflow...curious?

    • @jearlblah5169

compared to the size of the other areas (engine room etc) that area is actually not that big. Also i don't think it would cause a list as it is smack in the middle of the vessel

Every time I see your walk-through tours I am amazed at the complexity of your vessel. Your thumbnail shows you in front of the door and I was thinking it was going to be some small space that had a pump in it or something and when you opened it I was like OMG these are truly "ships" maybe not as large as a cargo hauler or tanker but ships...
I have several questions from you tour...
Do you have crew that inspect these spaces on a regular schedule both at sea or in port? You mentioned that the bilge pump valves remain shut until needed. Do they have a "fail safe" like do they fail open? Could you remember to say what an acronym stands for? You used ISM inspection and was wondering what that means. And this is just a little poke at you for fun because you guys are so incredibly meticulous; just wondering when you were going to replace that part that said "replace on 2/28/2018?"
