He is handsome. Here "is"is also called a verb that is called a linking verb but he is going to class. Here "is" is called an auxiliary verb. Both are verbs only the main difference is linking verb connects subject complement and auxiliary verb helps main verb( v1+ing) to form present continuous tense.
