      @BigWes Lines Ah, I see you spamming other people's comments on this same issue but here again you won't be able o back up what you say like you weren't in your own comment: can you substantiate your claim that James *demand* that people call him doctor? Also, hate to break it to you, but unaccredited degrees can be recognized by individuals, i.e. while an unaccredited degree will get rejected in an official capacity such as government positions, they can be recognized in private organizations. In other words, if an individual out of his own accord wants to recognize an unaccredited degree, then that is his own choice. And in this way, Zach Howard's post is perfectly fine. But regardless, you've been spamming this idea that James *demands* people call him doctor, so where is your documentation of him doing such things?

    Taking Dr. Whites’ class on Polemics was an eye opening experience for me in learning about the “religion” of Mormonism.

    “Joseph Smith was a very ignorant man.”
    Yeah...that’s an understatement.
    “Come on! ye prosecutors! Ye false swearers! All hell, boil over! Ye burning mountains, roll down your lava! For I will come out on the top at last. I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him; but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet.” (History of the Church, v. 6, pp. 408-409)

      @BigWes Lines I think what you should do is turn to Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Your life can be taken from you at any moment. You could die in the next hour and be condemned for abiding in darkness. You are under the wrath of God as we speak and the only means of escaping that wrath is turning to His Son Jesus Christ. I don’t want that for you. Eternity in Hell will make what you’ve experienced in this lifetime seem like a mere millisecond. Believe on the Gospel of the Lord. Christ, God the Son, humbly took on human flesh and voluntarily died for the sins of His people in accordance with the Scriptures, He was buried, and He rose again the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. Having been given all authority on Earth and in Heaven, Christ ascended to sit on His throne at the right hand of God the Father. The Father calls all men everywhere to repent and believe on the Gospel of His Son, because He has appointed a day wherein He will judge both the living and the dead by the Lord Jesus Christ, who will return as King of kings and Lord of Lords in a blazing fire.

      "How is proving the guy to be a false prophet an "Ad-hominem" attack?"
      He doesn't claim to be a prophet and because you attacked his credibility instead of making a counter argument. That's an ad-hominem attack--to ridicule in order to discredit. If you can prove him wrong, go for it.

    So, how has the position of "missionary" changed?

    • @Saratogan
      @Saratogan 3 роки тому +5

      Missionary "position"? There is no such position in scripture. The closest to the term missionary in scripture is "evangelist" and most Christians use the term interchangeably. Do not get confused by semantics. As James White says. The only two "positions" with a CV are elder/overseer and deacon. Mormon "missionaries" have a little black badge that says that they are an "elder". However, all of them are 17 to 20 years old. At that age, it is not possible to be an "elder". They are best described as "novice". 😃

    Now take these criticisms and apply them to the Bible and Christianity in general. Mormonism is just one of many fictional belief systems

    • @jtlbb2
      @jtlbb2 3 роки тому +5

      These criticisms aren't applicable to the Bible. And yes, I do agree Mormonism is just one of many fictional belief systems, along with atheism, which is the most ridiculous belief system of all.

    • @socaranectien1933
      @socaranectien1933 3 роки тому

      @@jtlbb2 The Bible is full of inconsistencies and improvable truth claims just like the BOM so a lot of these criticisms are absolutely applicable to the Bible. As for atheism, it’s just not believing in a god, which is completely reasonable as many gods and religious beliefs can’t be disproven or proven.

    • @jtlbb2
      @jtlbb2 3 роки тому +4

      @@socaranectien1933 I noticed how you didn't actually provide any of these alleged inconsistencies in the Bible. So they can be dismissed as arbitrary. But, given your worldview of atheism, why shouldn't people be allowed to be inconsistent? After all, you have no moral imperative in your worldview other than your own subjective or arbitrary opinions and you have no basis for the laws of logic. So as an atheist, why do you appeal to any type of moral code that you expect to be binding to anyone other than yourself and why expect the laws of logic to be upheld in all situations?

    • @socaranectien1933
      @socaranectien1933 3 роки тому

      @@jtlbb2 if you really want to know the inconsistencies you can look em up. They’re pretty irrelevant though because when it comes down to it, you can’t prove or disprove the Bible. You’d have to know everything in the universe to do that. I was trying to point out how odd it is to say that the BOM is wrong, and then go on to believing fully in the Bible. They’re both improvable so that doesn’t make sense to me. Also atheism doesn’t mean anything but no belief in a god. Morals don’t have to do with it. I also don’t see a problem with morals being “subjective” as long as they produce good outcomes, which is also subjective I guess. I also don’t care how people live their morals. They can whatever they want as long as it doesn’t hurt people.

    • @jtlbb2
      @jtlbb2 3 роки тому +4

      @@socaranectien1933 This is a discussion and in discussion it's pretty normal for people to substantiate their claims. So your claims that the Bible is full of inconsistencies stands as an unsubstantiated claim. Furthermore, given your atheistic worldview, why are inconsistencies wrong in the first place?
      And your claim that it is odd to believe the BOM is wrong but believe the Bible is true simply doesn't follow, as the truthfulness of the Bible is independent from the truthfulness of the BOM.
      And no, atheism's claim that there is no God has a lot of implications beyond simply there is no God. For example, due to your atheism you admit that you have no problem with morals being subjective and ironically you even realize that "good outcomes" in itself is a subjective standard. But here is what is ironic: you recognize as an atheist you have no objective moral code if atheism were true, and you even recognize that "good outcomes" itself is subjective (and really an arbitrary standard as who is to say what is good?) and yet, you fail to recognize the irony in your closing remark. And that is, why is it wrong to hurt people? Who decided that? Now, don't get me wrong, as a Christian, I have an objective basis for morality and agree it is wrong to hurt people. But if atheism is true, then hurting others isn't right or wrong. In fact, some people actually get great joy out of hurting others. Why should the well being of others be placed above the happiness of those who like to hurt people?
