Great video the time off is spent working contrary to people belief or living the life. There are some teachers who travel a lot during summer but majority that don’t have other income streams are limited to travel
Great video. I get paid the same and I am from California 10 months spread out to 12…my first pay check for the next school year is at the end of August. But like you said many teachers still work during summer. I personally start preparing/planning like two weeks before school starts..not paid of course.
Great video! As a teacher, we also go in before school begins, to get our classrooms ready for the new school year. At our school, we do this on our own time, because we have too many meetings and lesson planning to do once we officially return to school.
Thanks so much for watching! I have a bunch of other videos about my first two years of teaching. Before I started my first year I was binge watching all the teacher videos 😂 Good luck with your first year 💖💖💖
I’m a substitute teacher that just started in February. Single mom so I need another job for summer! I don’t get paid unfortunately :/ can’t wait to go back in august, I don’t need a break! :)
Hello, please do make a video on how you manage & track your daily works - both personal & professional. The apps you use to manage in your iPhone or ipad etc. Will be helpful if you share any tips on how you are able to manage all the works. Thanks 🙏🏻
Your candidacy is very appreciated. With how important teachers are in maintaining society, you would think they would be properly compensated. Despite being fully aware of this, I have loved working with children as a sub this past school year and am looking forward to maintaining my own classroom! 😄 If you’re comfortable with answering, how would your current life be affected if you could only support yourself with a teacher salary?
I’m fortunate enough to be in an area that actually pays teachers decently (still Not enough in my opinion but significantly more than some other states). I could definitely support myself only on teacher salary but a little extra money from UA-cam is super helpful- even though it’s not much lol
Teachers are in essence "unemployed" during the summer. You can choose to have your monthly salary spread out for 12 month, but this is the 10 month contracted salary. The reality is that there is a sesne of shame amongts teachers to admit that their salary is only for 10 months. Again, through a hard economic lens, conclusion, TEACHERS ARE UNEMPLOYED during the summer.
Hi, Brianna! honestly, I really like your hair. I'm living in GA and i had watched a lots of your videos and i really enjoy all your Tips it's help me to understand more and more. anyway, can you please tell me what state do you live ? Thank you and i really appreciate for your times to make all great videos.
Hey luv, how do you "clock in/ out" as a teacher? Also does your district have a curriculum pacing guide to tell you what to teach/ how for TEKS/ELAR 9 because school starts so you can lesson plan in the summer?
Nope. We are on salary so we don’t clock in or out. We have contract hours that we are supposed to work within but usually I work way more lol. Whether I work 40 hours or 60, still get paid the same. We do have a pacing guide!
@@byBriannaStone Thank you for the reply I have one more question.Do you divide divide the base salary by 12 and that would be my check total monthly or are there any other additional funds we get on top of the base salary such as benefits?
Teachers are overpaid during the 8 or 9 months they work so its a moot point. Its approx. $90,000 for 8-9 months of work, which is way too much and furthermore, women are vastly over represented in that system.

For sure! There’s never enough time for everything 😫 last year I moved classes and that took forever to move everything and decorate a new class
I’m going into my first year teaching here in Teaxas!!! Your video was very helpful ☺️

Teachers are also paid by their level of degrees. A teacher with a master's degree will get paid more than a teacher with a Bachelor's degree.

Great video & information! Enjoy your SUMMER! You deserve it!

So is the salary listed prorated for 10 months? Or is it allocated? For example if it’s 50,000 salary is it 5,000 for each month or 4,166?

Overpaid.. lol bye
With all the responsibility you have throughout the entire year, you are grossly underpaid. ☹
Agreed!
@@byBriannaStone 😊
In opposite world, yes, I agree.
@@Nate-ud2ytwtf are you talking about haha teachers are way underpaid.
Will you also get paid for hosting other exams like SAT or ACT?
No we do not get paid for those. We had to proctor those tests during the school year
