It was fun and funny to watch. Thanks for sharing. I've seen these in dollar tree. At first u was excited, because they were cheaper. But then , I thought it could never be better than cricut.
I have never used the DT Iron On but I have used their permanent vinyl and the paper backing completely stuck to my mat. It took me an hour to clean it off and it still wasn't great. I will never use DT vinyl of any kind. Thanks for this review!
For the dollar tree glitter iron-on, I have found that once you get the right setting, the weeding is still difficult with more intricate designs. However, if you are working with a filled in silhouette or bigger/bolder design it works much better.
It is so hard to weed! It would probably work but it's a bit frustrating compared to Cricut or other iron-on I've used. I bought some of the adhesive vinyl. I am going to do another comparison video after the holidays.
They also have foil iron on I used the glitter on some faux leather sheets I didn't like pattern of to make bookmarks for the Girl Scouts. I did not use my cricut for that project, i hand cut everything to use it all up
Once I figured out the right settings it was terrible to weed. I also wasn't impressed with it after the first wash. Did you use glitter iron-on or was it regular? My DT didn't have any non glitter for me to try.
Right! @barbarapalmer because the DT gold glitter Htv I bought was Thick!!! Not thin at all. But my problem was it wouldn't transfer to my T-shirt!! I heat pressed over & over & over...... glitter would not transfer😡
I wonder if it is the glitter vinyl. I got the glitter permanent vinyl from DT and that didn't stick very good at all. Plus you probably get what you pay for. :)
I am so curious! I went to 3 Dollar Trees and only found Glitter Iron-on Sheets. I did get some adhesive vinyl that wasn't glitter. I will have to report back.
Thanks for having the patience to see this through 😆 I was curious how it was going to come out in the end.
You’re welcome! The weeding took forever!

Couldn't agree more! Went through those same emotions. But I guess you get what you pay for.

Good to know! I bought some of that too. I will have to use an old mat when I test it out so I don't ruin a new one.

I’m so happy you did this. I always wondered. I wonder if it would work on card stock?

Now I am on a mission to try the foil. Did the foil work well?
thank you
No problem ❤
The Cricut and Dollar tree have different settings. After finding the correct settings (test cut) I used it with no problems

I had bought some from dollar tree and used wasi setting. But I think in packaging it is not made right from person packing.. If that makes sense.
I only used this vinyl for iron cards. But the permanent vinyl is no better. But I am glad you did this comparison..
@@barbarapalmer4185 I am eager to try the adhesive vinyl to see how it compares!

Surely a better comparison would be the non-smart vinyl.
I would have just thrown it away when it didn't cut the first time! I don't have the patience!
Hahah I almost did but I was committed to the video lol.
You have way more patience than me! What a mess!
Oh man I was committed to it once I started. I bought the vinyl too. I’m going to try it but I need to prepare myself hahah 🤣
Adjust the setting lighter. Cut as permanent vinyl.
I darn near broke my wrist trying to weed Dollar Tree iron on $1.25 cheap glitter wouldn't use it as graffiti
Okay that was fascinating and holy cow the dollar tree stuff is crap!
I couldn't believe how long it took to weed. It was so brittle.
