Hello, a small doubt, The price of share or NAV for MF change daily or by year end, in such case how will we get the exact closing balance? Say, purchased MF for 6000 and year end balance is 10000, balance sheet will still show holding as 6000, right? How to rectify?
Yes, an asset is shown in the balance sheet at its book value not at market price. but when you sell it and book profit then you can account profit as capital gain in the books.

ONCE UNDER CLOSING STOCK AND ANOTHER UNDER INVESTMENT. THUS, ACCOUNTING GOES WRONG. IT SHOULD ONLY REFLECTS UNDER INVESTMENT AND NOT IN CLOSING STOCK. There is a flaw in this calculation, the balance amount is being shown in Closing Stocks also and in Investment and in the P&L A/c it is coming under Closing Stock and Profit is increasing by that amount.. what is your take on this? Pl. reply

If I have an SIP mutual fund of 1000pm . Now after 2 yrs it becomes 24000 . After this I start redeeming 1000 rs pm . Then how to pass entry at the end of March ,if I have redeemed 1000Rs , 6 times in that year ?

Sir, What about Closing Stock shown, in current video, in the Profit & Loss Account as well as under Current Asset? It should not be shown as such.

I agree....Mutual funds will be shown twice on Assets side....once as Investments and again as Closing stock... there should be some other way...
