Great video as always. Two questions, if I have a non merged fbneo romset how can I import them? 2nd, how did you.manahe to have this loading screen before game starts? Thank you. 👋👋👍👍
I was testing most of the options and I miss one functionality. Downloading media files according the rom name. I mean, there are people who split games per region (different covers, different cartridges, etc..) Are you planning to add the way of downloading media files like that and let the different media separately? Thanks for your work.
You can definitely choose to not combine your games into a single game entry. There's an option for this during import. Each version of the game would then become a separate game entry, and you'll have the option to apply different media to each one.
Ok, I have a couple of issues with this. I might be missing something from the tutorial, but: 1) If you use any non-arcade FBN ROMs, they need to either have the type of system in the file name, or the directory needs to use the proper code to identify the system. Otherwise you get the white screen telling you the ROM isn’t recognized. 2) something is happening in Launchbox that many of the arcade games give the white screen error, even though it works just using RetroArch. It seems like, even though I deselected the unzip option in Launchbox, it still is trying to unzip. Any thoughts on what might be going wrong?
@@UnbrokenSoftwareLLC Lol, Holy crap I forgot to take off my blinders. I don't even know how I missed it. This way is better than using the, "Force using the MAME metadata"?
@@UnbrokenSoftwareLLC that's it. I am a bigbox premium user and that's a great looking theme. Made it my default theme. Thank you again. Edit* can you.please write me what view you use for the systems? I see you have them like the games wheel. I want that too. But my systems are in horizontal view at the bottom of the screen. I tried every option in views for the platforms but it stays the same (horizontal view, no wheel) no matter what I choose.
Hi there, thanks for this tutorial ... works fine except that my games are not classified into Arcade subcategories (2 players games, Lighgun, ...) Is there a way to achieve it after import ? Thanks for your answer.
@@UnbrokenSoftwareLLC HUumm, As far as I understand, they are not considered as "Arcade" category games ? Just games belonging to "Final Burn Neo platform", correct ? By the way, right clicking and following your instructions does not create a Light Gun section, is it normal ? For example, I was thinkg that lethal enforcers was considered as a Lightgun game but it is categorized as "Cooperative/ Multiplayer". Thanks again for your amazing work !
LaunchBox has it's own media filename standard, however, it will also accept media that's named after the ROM file associated with each game. If you need further help, we'd recommend heading to our community forums for better support: forums.launchbox-app.com/
How do I actually use neogeo/MAME roms? I’ve been attempting to figure it out for days and I can’t seem to find out how. I don’t know how to acquire a full rom set, let alone use it, so I’m at quite a loss, lol
You can import these into the Arcade platform, and tell LaunchBox for Android to use the fbneo core within RetroArch. If you need help, you can ask over on our community forums: forums.launchbox-app.com/
I have one game on fb neo, Punisher, that has very low audio. In mame, I had a hard time getting it louder and it is better in fb neo, but is there a way to configure the fb games like mame with the tab?
Perhaps an unpopular opinion but Final Burn Neo is only something to use when you haven’t got the space for a full MAME set. It’s perfectly good but a bit pointless these days.
Biggest news for me is that you can update your Retroarch installation from within Launchbox :P
I love that feature.
Launchbox and Retroarch. Two frontends on top of each other.
Awesome! Does Final Burn Neo support the run ahead feature in Retroarch?

Ok, ignore the second issue. Somehow it’s pointing to the wrong directory. I just need to fix it in the .XML file. Sorry!
I’m having the same problem any advice please ?
Thanks for this tutorial...Is there a possibility with LaunchBox to exclude clones and certain types of games?
Yes sms goes with mame
Import, mame do your changes then create the custom list
good tuto, but why when you import in the names you get Real name + zipfilename?
Is there any way to randomly pick games.
Did I miss something? Where is the part where you show how to import the roms into LaunchBox?
Looks like it. Look for the chapter called "Import Your Games"

What theme do you use at the end. Its exactly what i want for my system.
It's called Big Details and it is available from the LaunchBox Theme Manager.
@@UnbrokenSoftwareLLC Thank you 👍👍

oh, you are talking about the end segment that's a Big Box theme called DarkRoom. You'll find it on the forums.

In the Platform Categories section, find the platform and right click it. Then choose "Create Missing Arcade/MAME playlists"

Hey pal how do u u have those colorful 4 icons next to yr game box
Those are called Badges. You can turn them on under the Badges menu.
Do you guys know how to fix the files with (-1) in the end ?

Awesome
Will this work on unmerged rom sets?
this voice sounds like ETA Prime...is that you? lol
Does this have shaders so I can add scan lines?
Anything being run through RA can have a shader. Once you've selected and setup your shader you'll want to save these settings for the core.
You can choose to run any shader on a per-emulator core instance or per-game instance. You really have incredible flexibility with RA.
when i try to play game, it says controllers not configured? how do i get my controllers to work within the game?
You may need to watch some beginner tutorials on RetroArch if your controller is not being instantly recognized by RetroArch.

Good for handhelds / weaker systems I guess.
@@odinsplaygrounds Good point well made, I hadn’t considered handhelds.
FinalBurn Neo also supports retro achievements which MAME doesn't.
