My back garden looks out to the Sandringham Estate, it's so beautiful here, everyday is different & by that I mean nature, the weather, the skies .... I love being here so much Your video is just beautiful, Thank You for doing this 💖
One of the few private homes of the Royal Family. Purchased by Queen Victoria in the 1800s it is where our late Queen Elizabeth chose to spend her time off at Christmas; where she could relax, put on her comfortable clothes and explore the beautiful acres of woodlands and gardens.
Thank you Jill for your lovely comment. Yes, when I visited you could tell that Sandringham was her home. The room where she spent Christmas was very homely and you could tell that it was a family room. Season's greetings and all the very best for 2023. x 🎄
Would love to go to this estate, some day, I live across the pond. SoCal. It’s cloudy and cool today. Low 60’s F. I didn’t wear a coat, sweater or a jacket though. I wore a long sleeve shirt though. My grandfather is from Yorkshire by the sea in Mappleton. His father was the Vicar. At All Saints church.
Thank you for your lovely comment. I love Yorkshire but I haven't been to Mappleton. Just checked it on Google, and it looks so beautiful! Hope you didn't get too cold. Very wise to wear a long sleeve shirt though. I hope that one day soon you can visit the Estate. You'll love it!!! xx
Thank you for your lovely comment Jay. I shall try to do that next time. Maybe I should put the types of savouries, sandwiches, cakes and jam for this video in the description box? I'm sure I still have the menu as I was encouraged to keep it. Let me know if that would help. Season's greetings 🎄x
Thank you for your comment Rukmal. I hope you manage to visit Sandringham as you can actually tour around the ground floor of Sandringham House. You are not allowed photography inside the house only though but it's still amazing, especially as the King is spending this Christmas there. x
What a beautiful place! It's a pity that you couldn't take videos, or photos of the inside of the Sandringham Palace. The church was sweet in its own way. The food looked very delicious 😋 😍. Thank you again. 😊
Thank you so much for your lovely comment Cassandra. Yes it was such a pity as I would have loved to have been able to video the inside the House, especially where the Queen sat in the evenings and on Christmas Day. 🎄 x ❤
Thank you for your comment Julia. Yes, the public can visit Highgrove and Sandringham Estate. In Sandringham you can actually go around the whole of the ground floor of Sandringham House and you can see where the Queen spent her Christmas. You can also see the grounds, visit the shop and of course the St. Mary Magdalene Church where the Queen went on Christmas Day. King Charles III is spending his 1st Christmas since the Queen's death at Sandringham Estate this year. Prince William and Princess Kate and their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are going to be there too :0)
Do they have postcards of the rooms you visited, but couldn't photograph? It looks like the carpark is quite a walk from the tour buildings. A lot of seniors are standing in line and 'round about. I assume some may work there in their retirement for a bit of extra income. Among those planning to do the tour, are they mostly foreigners who in retirement can afford to travel to other countries or are they mostly UK residents who have the time and can drive or take the train to various grand estates & homes? Have foreign visitors, especially from the EU, slowed due to the red tape encumbrances imposed due to Brexit? What a lovely old village church with a beautiful silver altar. The woodwork is extraordinary. There are some unusually beautiful, more pastel-range colors in the stained glass windows. I see magnificent silver work on the pulpit, as well. So many folks look as though they are meandering around without registering the artistic beauty of what they are seeing. I could not tell due to poor eyesight, but are the stories told in the stained glass windows those of Mary Magdalene? I would assume so. It would be interesting to note them because so much of what we know of her is historically inaccurate or confused with another biblical woman. I take it the signage is good, as you seem like you know where you're going as you move from one area to the next. Any elderberry plants among those for sale outside the church? Aren't the tombstones in old graveyards fascinating: designs, materials used, and the epitaphs? The tea room looks lovely and not too crowded. The porcelain tea service is lovely. Is it unique to this estate? I had to look up Norfolk coppa and it's air-dried pork as in capocollo, we are familiar with from Italian cold cut meats. The sandwiches, scones, and tea would do me just fine. LOL. Apparently, there's a difference of opinions as to whether the clotted cream or the jam should go on the scone first, as the base for the other. I think the clotted cream makes sense first. I think maybe I read the royals do the jam first. The giftshop has some nicely done woodsy, rustic things on offer.
Thank you Philippa for your lovely comment. You do make me think with some of your lovely questions :o) I'll pay extra attention when I visit places next time in the future. Your questions have raised my awareness as to the kind of things my lovely viewers/subscribers would want to see. I don't remember seeing post cards of the inside of Sandringham House/Palace for sale in the gift shop but I'll be keeping an eye on it in the future just in case. I think that the porcelain tea service is unique to this state as I haven't come across it anywhere else. I'd love to go back to Sandringham as it's such an amazing place. I wonder if King Charles is going to do anything to the gardens now that he's going to be spending his Christmases there, etc. If/when I go back I'll check whether they have any elderberry plants for sale outside the church. I didn't see any when I was there. The day I went to Sandringham most people seemed to be retired British people but then in the afternoon I saw some young people enjoying the Estates and the afternoon tea, etc. I also saw some people from India, Europe and America or Canada? Lots of the people there seemed to have arrived from organised tours as they arrived in coach buses. 🤗😘
Thank you Anne. What happened was that although it was summer it turned out to be a cold day. Luckily I had taken a cardigan and a jacket. Often but NOT always in England (UK), you never know what's going to happen with the weather on the day. It's a question of choosing your clothes for the day and hope for the best when you go out and about. I hope that makes sense ☺😚
Wow.
The Church is beautiful!

Lovely video - I was almost transported there with you. I'd love to have known which types of savouries, sandwiches, cakes and jam were served.

@@rosalbasden5573, thank you for your prompt reply. Sandringham Palace is one of my favorite places, in England 🇬🇧 😍 🙌 👏 😀
I didn't know you could visit Sandringham and High Grove.

Who else gets nervous that she’s driving on the “wrong” side of the road?
Do you mean the opposite side of the road? It's not "wrong"!
🥳🎂👍
Thank you for your lovely emojis 😊
What is the maker of the dishes
It's Chelsea botanical porcelain designed by our late Queen's mother (The Queen's Mother) :o)
nice share. However, now how can you came up to the idea of wearing sandals with a puffer ? How strange !
