In this video we are going to repair the electronic ballast used in RO water purifier. If the microcontroller installed in the electronic ballast or choke gets damaged, the electronic ballast neither resets nor the UV lamp lights up. We will make a small circuit using IC CD 4047 and replace it with the microcontroller of the electronic ballast to light the UV lamp.
I have classic RO+UV pureit. Its controller is not working. So, can use ballast choke instead of controller? Can water purifier will work normally?

Hello. I have already bypassed the UV ballast by watching your videos. So in order to turn ON the UV lamp can I use choke which ready-maid available in amazon. In this video u have suggested a new circuit which may have good reliability. But I m not having patience to make it.😢

My kent grand plus RO is not turning on. Red light with a beep is continuously on. One beep every second. My booster pump was leaked so changed it. When we disconnect water pump, the RO turns on and filters the water as well with low pressure. But when we connect water pump (new or old), the RO turns off with red blinking light with beep every second. What could be the problem, please help.
Is the UV lamp working? If yes then try resetting the ballast. (video link

@@diyrepairs Thanks. I called someone yesterday. He forcefully changed membrane saying it is bcz of that. After changing also RO did not work. He asked to change ballast, added new ballast and same problem. Then he brought out UV light and used new one and did something with UV light connectors (black one both the sides) and the RO worked. He started asking for money for ballast and membrane but I understood that problem is not with the ballast. He suggested another way to direct the connections and bypass the ballast and we went with that. Now he said in this case UV will not work. Is there any way to make UV work by bypassing the Ballast? Additionally, RO tank is filling 2/3 only and stopping. What could be the reason? I called technician to visit again and rectify by he seemed uninterested and made excuses. Please help. Much appreciate and I also like to repair my own stuff. Thanks a lot again. You are doing a great job by helping people.
It seems the problem is with the UV lamp. Which UV lamp is currently installed in your machine, new or old? did you have the old ballast? is it installed? Why did you call the technician, you can do it yourself it's very simple. It has a float switch that senses the water level and stops the machine. Filling the tank 2/3rd of the way has no relation to the other parts. You can watch related videos in RO Kent playlist in my channel.
@@diyrepairs my UV lamp never changed after I bought RO in 2016. So I guess it will be old one. Old ballast is still installed but he cut the wires and bypassed it. I called him after struggling for the whole day. I don’t give up easily but was not being able to repair it. Now I am planning to buy the new wiring of RO and set it and repair it. I will keep you posted.
Why did the technician cut the wires? There was no need to cut. Just a jumper of wire had to be installed in the socket which is connected to the ballast. I have made a video on this. You can see by going to the playlist. There is no need to buy a new wire, just connect the cut wires together. I had asked yesterday whether the lamp was glowing when the machine was beeping? Green or blue light appears in the lamp holder where the pipes are connected when the machine is ON. Because even if the UV lamp is faulty, a beeping sound is heard. Secondly, when the machine runs for 700 hours, the filter change alarm in the ballast starts beeping. This is how the ballast is programmed. The ballast has nothing to do with the condition of the filters. In this condition only the ballast needs to be reset.
