@@PetetheIrishPilot Three times a day, 08:00, 14:00 departure from JFK and I would catch the inbound arrival passing Starrett City around 17:30. My head was always looking up at the activity. This sparked my love of aviation.
What are the weather minimums like for this approach? Is there ever a time where an ILS would be selected due to weather deterioration? Not a real pilot, but simming for many years. I must have a ponder online and give this one a go later. Looks like good craic. Thanks for sharing Pete. Love the flight deck analysis videos
Nice but I would have started the video from the inbount leg to the VOR and shown the flaps extension schedule and landing extension as well. Here it's only the last turn of the procedure.
Amazing video as always! I just don’t understand why a go around from 13L would interfere with la guardia traffic, since la guardia is behind you when approaching 13L? ;)
Sorry that the audio of the engines was in absentia. Hope it didn't detract from your enjoyment of what is a very interesting non-precision approach. P🍀
This approach bring back memories I have done it many times when I was based at JFK.... Great video 👍🏻
Concorde used to do the canarsie climb, banking left immediately after rotation.
Great vid, pilots always have my respect
It's a US airport, he got clearance to land immediatelly after entering US airspace just to keep things rolling.
Memories for me
I became a pilot from growing up in Canarsie watching the Concorde flying over head.
How brilliant. Those sights of Concorde will be unforgettable. P🍀

Love from the flight deck footage Pete!
Very interesting Pete, thanks

Is the autopilot expected to remain armed for that long?
👏👏👏

Good question! I thought the same but apparently that's the Port Authority's line. Thanks for your communication. P🍀
Pete the ILS13L is available but only in crap weather
My last approach on the Jumbo was a Canarsie.
Good for you. Hope it went according to Hoyle. P🍀
I must admit it's safer than a can arsee approach 😊
It sure is😂. Thanks for your input. P🍀
I prefer the 'Canarsie' approach over the 'Kamikaze' approach, myself......
Allah Ackbar
It would have been nice to hear the aircraft sounds in the video

Anyone else also wonders why the runway lights don't get crushed by the landing gear 😅
They are well recessed, surrounded by a metal case and made of toiughened material. Hope that's of help. P🍀
5" on the altimeter is ALWAYS butter❤
Pint of Guinness please, Landlord.
