For some people, cutting and baling hay is magic. I can CLEARLY remember watching crews bale around my old house, and running out to play on the bales when they left. Later, I took on an old NH drum mower and spent some of my best summer days in some feild in the country chopping my way through waist high grass, fire ant mounts and gopher piles...
Thanks for the videos!! I get excited everytime I get a notification that a new video has posted from you guys. Keep up the good work in the fields and with the videos. I really, really appreciate the videos. Back in my teens I always had a job in the hay field in the summer loading the square bales on to a trailer lots of back breaking labor. Hope I never touch another bale with hands! Keep the videos coming.
My last cut looked like your Hay, customers were complaining thinking it was rained on. Told them no rain late season hay and morning Dew. What you going to do, Horse people can be very picky! Great Video today, liked it when you plowed into bails!👍
Yep, the dew bleaches out the color and they complain, it's simple take it are leave it! This winter there will be a great shortage. Any hay especially square bales will sell!
I have been watching your videos for two days. I think that's great. Greetings from Nordfriesland in Germany. Too bad that I can not smell the beautiful hay.
From where I am sitting and watching your wife driving the tractor trailing a rake and baler and the way you run your operation I don't think that you could get any better. great video thanks The lady running the big show not too many women could do what you are doing.
great vid, hope all goes well. it has been wet/damp here in western pa for too long. watch out for those pile of bales, they will sneak up on you. thanks u 2.
As a hay farmer in Southern Illinois you have a very good demonstration of putting up hay you also made a great point about the color of the hay being bleached out it's still more important to get the hay put up dry so I keep sand feeds safely to animals putting hay preservative on it like you do for horses is the best insurance there is in my experience for the horses. If this preservative is put on right and I think you're doing it right there's no reason for any horse to foam at the mouth experience hey people know that Clover can make horses foam at the mouth that's why we don't sell clover hay to horse people. If you are not aware of geoengineering you need to look this issue it's been causing major problems with hay and all crops and all life in general I'm trying to get the word out about geoengineering I wasn't aware of this until I was looking for something different to put up because it was getting so difficult to put up Alfalfa and grass hay dry that I was looking at other feed choices to sell and for myself to feed most of time I feed all my poor hey to my livestock and that's the main reason I keep cattle on my farm there's no point in giving hey away I'm losing all that fertilizer I put into it and I saw my highlights quality hay for the highest dollar I can get. There's no doubt that you have to be highly innovated and you've done a great deal with raking hay and baling and doing everything in one straight line looks great but my area do the humidity we have to rake it and still let it sit for an hour before we could bail it. You would gave me an idea of maybe mounting my sprayer tank on to the hay rake and spray the acid on in the windrow.
looked like good hay to me ! I like yalls operation, simple system that works , making a good product too. So whats the next video, ? Got an audience now, so keep the videos coming !
Good looking hay! Do you have any problems with the twine on the bottom of the bales being weakened or breaking from sliding on the stubble in the accumulater? Thanks for sharing another great video! You and your wife take care!
Great update you two, if you have time check out my second last and then my last video to see what we're dealing with and harvest is still not done. atleast i can watch you guys working and dream of warmer conditions, lol. cheers you two.
Do you apply Satellite in the fall only? Or do you use it between a cutting in the growing as well? Really interested in your spray program the hay looks really clean.
Just purchased a sled like yours. i want to make 32 inch bales three bales would be eight foot long Starting from the front what hole do you put black trippers in It has a little chunk of pipe weld to the bottom close to the soil Garry Ulmer from pa.
How long are your bales.?When the sled is full those two black trippers that are fastened to the cable trip the back door.I just though you could tell which set if holes to put those trippers. I think yours are in the second hole from the front.I want to mahe 32 inch bales thank you garry
The new holland stack wagon is the first thing I've found to disagree with you on. I'll run circles around you and that accumulator with my stack wagons. In my opinion it's the only way to pick up small bales of hay. And if you want to pick them up with a grapple you get a 15 or 18 bale grapple, depending on the size of your wagon, and you can easily load a trailer. I've actually never seen an accumulator in action before as nobody around me has one. It just doesn't seem efficient at all.
Hey from the uk just wondering what kind of baler/windrower (as you call them) setup you had before you got to the current setup. We used to do it like you but windrowing separately. Can’t see a more efficient way than yours. Thanks for the great vids...
We never treated horse hay! It will cause the horses to foam at the mouth more! Along with upsetting there digestive system. It's great for roll bales and cattle. Keeps the temp in roll bales down . Saves barns from burning. We never lost a barn in 30 years of storing roll bales in the barn , we moved our rolls immediately to the barn .
Excuse my ignorance, but what is the spray for? Haven't helped my buddy for years(his kids got old enough to help him) and his round and square balers didn't have sprayers!
Steffen System, the bales stay on the caddie till it's full then it pushes them off. Works perfect an any type of hay! The drag on the ground only work in certain situations! We now went to a Bale Baron, it's absolutely the best way.
Drag accumulator is way to go. Only a couple of brands of hydraulic operated ones are reliable and none I've seen work as well as drag type. Kuhn...don't like that style at all.
Appears to have been a good year for you. nice to see a real family operation still exists. Thanks for the sharing of your time.
Thanks for watching

I have been watching your videos for two days. I think that's great. Greetings from Nordfriesland in Germany. Too bad that I can not smell the beautiful hay.
It’s a wonderful smell
Given the situation, I'd say that's some fine looking hay! Great setup ya got there!
It’s been a bear this year
Nice work on getting that hay up. That accumulator is dialed in just right
It's been flawless this year
From where I am sitting and watching your wife driving the tractor trailing a rake and baler and the way you run your operation I don't think that you could get any better. great video thanks
The lady running the big show not too many women could do what you are doing.
I agree and she is better at it than me or anyone I know
i sure like that rake / baler set up.... thanks for telling your story.....
It works for us
You gotta do what works for you and not for other folks. I do love the nice square bales from those Hesston inline balers!
They work well
Love watching that Deere and Hesston combo you guys run, makes me think I’m double handling by still raking separately!
It works well for us
Going to be one cold winter with all the moisture around. Least the hay looks great this late in the season.
I'm ready for winter
great vid, hope all goes well. it has been wet/damp here in western pa for too long. watch out for those pile of bales, they will sneak up on you. thanks u 2.
Thanks, lol
Miss your videos hope you are all well
Y'all do make great hay. Ive seen it here in middle TN.
Oh that hay will still make good road apples lol another good video thanks 👍🏻
Lol, thanks
Didn't notice when you posted this, hope you got it in the barn before Last night. We had a flood come thru here!
We got it in thankfully, it's been a tough year

I’ve never thought about spraying the windrow. If you figure it out left me know.

Not one problem in close to half a million bales
Enjoyed your video.👍👍
Thanks
I love to watch that hay train run.
I do too
If you get time in the off season can you do a video and do a review on your accumulator? Thanks.
Ok
Excellent video
Thanks
Looking good! I believe that you and your wife have the 'hay baling business' down to a science! ....13
It works well for us
How did you get started in this business? Good video glad to see its going well.
Long story
@@NorthTexasHay Please share the story some time...we like long stories
Did the army worms come through yalls area? They hit us hard. It’s amazing how much damage they can do in such a short amount of time.
I've had them since June, but I'm on a consistent spray program so I don't ever get damage
We have a Kuhn accumulator and it is sweet
I'm glad it works for you
Another good video. If you don't mind my asking, what is the cost per bale when you spray them?
Adds about 10 cents a bale
I like taking a tug ride out in the field. The baling is fun to watch.
Thanks
Great update you two, if you have time check out my second last and then my last video to see what we're dealing with and harvest is still not done. atleast i can watch you guys working and dream of warmer conditions, lol. cheers you two.
I will, hope it gets better
Do you cut any strings dragging the strings on the ground with that acimmumilator
Seriously! Your doing good with camera.
I try
Do you apply Satellite in the fall only? Or do you use it between a cutting in the growing as well? Really interested in your spray program the hay looks really clean.
Fall and spring
Glad you got it up finally! Is it just my phone, or does the field look brown?? Does this grass go dormant brown in the winter?
Always brown after you cut, there is no leaf that low
All good! Thanks!
Thank you
Hope everything well.
We’re doing well, just not much to say
Just purchased a sled like yours. i want to make 32 inch bales three bales would be eight foot long Starting from the front what hole do you put black trippers in It has a little chunk of pipe weld to the bottom close to the soil Garry Ulmer from pa.

I would except that challenge
The stacker was definitely a pain in the rear to work with.
They are garbage in my opinion, but to each their own
Nice vid!
Thanks

Not sure exactly what you mean
Sorry, I mean what was your first ever baler or have you always had the massey with the hay rake attached to the front?
Nice Vid !!
Thanks

That is not my experience
North Texas Hay have you ever tried the steffens system or thought about trying one?
I’ve watched them in action and I wouldn’t want one personally
How many bales have you put through your 1840? Considering getting a used one. Great video as always!!
50 thousand, it’s a great baler
Excuse my ignorance, but what is the spray for? Haven't helped my buddy for years(his kids got old enough to help him) and his round and square balers didn't have sprayers!
A preservative for hay that can’t be dried properly, to keep it from dusting
Don't they make an accumulator with a bottom where the bales do not drag on the ground?
Not that I'm aware, dragging has never been an issue
Steffen System, the bales stay on the caddie till it's full then it pushes them off. Works perfect an any type of hay! The drag on the ground only work in certain situations! We now went to a Bale Baron, it's absolutely the best way.
When did you first get into the hay business?
Any new videos? Just wondering if you have any inventory. You have to be like the rest of us, wishing you had more hay?
Yes and yes
Where did you all go ? Been a month.
I’ve been in hiding
What's the small wheels that ride over the top of the bales for ?
Helps force the bales through that corner, every now and again they would stick
Bearings are holding up on the hay rake
They have been rock solid
How often do you fill that tank while baling
Once per day
I think your baling train is NEATO FRITO
Lol, thanks
where did you guys go? no new vids in a month? you guys ok?
We’re good, not much going on
@@NorthTexasHay ok good, just checking on you guys
My dad is a farmer he started round baling because he could never find anybody to help with square bales
You definitely need at least one other person
You sell the ranch???? Where are the videos
We’re here, just not much going on
Drone footage coming soon?
That would change things up
Drag accumulator is way to go. Only a couple of brands of hydraulic operated ones are reliable and none I've seen work as well as drag type. Kuhn...don't like that style at all.
That's been my experience also
Spontaneously combusting...
Not spontaneous but they will catch fire
What do you use for a pre-emergence?
Prowl h20, satellite or simazine
Oh! If I would have watched whole vid or just a little longer you said what it was and showed what you use!! Dummy me!!!
Lol
Where is Scott ?
