    I bought my "spike shoes" two years ago at the tender age of 31. On the VERY NEXT day after buying them, I decided not to wear them yet, went outside and slipped. Took a hit to my knee, twisted a thing inside it and couldn't operate quite normally for the next 7 or so months.
    So take the word of this seasoned adventurer. Buy the spikes for your shoes... and use them.

  • @jammeri
    @jammeri 8 годин тому +9

    Everyone regardless of age should own spikes for shoes during winter in Finland. You can buy shoes with spikes already included, get the strapped ones or even add the spikes yourself. It's very cheap insurance against broken bones when the ground starts to resemble a skating rink. But be warned that you don't want to walk inside buildings with the spikes on as the spikes can damage the floor or be VERY slippery.

      I'm 38 and have worn spiked shoes for about 15 years every winter and most of the winter. Still slipped a while ago, there was some black ice under a bit of snow. But probably the shoes have saved me from hundreds of slippings. And I wear them everywhere, I will not carry another pair of shoes around with me

    Actually, Finnish people don't feel schadenfreude when they see a robot in trouble. They feel empathy and want to help the poor robot. Finnish people feel schadenfreude when they see their neighbor in trouble.
    And those Pirkka shoes and t-shirts...Only one person could wear those. His name is Pirkka-Pekka Petelius.

    There are three types of drivers: 1) those that don't know how to turn on the high beams and drive around completely blind, 2) those that know about high beams but turn them off ~10km before encountering oncoming traffic (so effectively also driving blind a lot of the time), 3) those that accidentally turned on the high beams and don't know hot to turn them off.

      No, the happiness index is based entirely on the subjective ratings about their lives that respondents gave. The factors you mentioned are used after the fact to try to explain the results.
      From the FAQ (youtube always delets my comments if I link something)
      "The rankings in Figure 2.1 of World Happiness Report 2024 use data from the Gallup World Poll surveys from 2021 to 2023. They are based on answers to the main life evaluation question asked in the poll. "

    7:16 Wiener means Viennese (in German), Wien is how you write the name of the capital of Austria in German and in Finnish. So Wiener-pulla (or viineripulla) is Viennese pulla. In Finland, viineri refers to a certain type of sweet pastry, typically no pulla, though. They are typically made out of puff pastry. Despite the name, they came to Finland from Denmark (I think in English they are referred to as Danish pastries), who got them from Austria.

    You can use "nastapohjallisia" on your shoes any age. You only have to "jaksaa" take them on and off many places because they arent good for floor. I think that is one reason why "younger" people dont use them. They use them only when they feels that they really need them.
    I use them sometimes but now i dont know where they are so "tyhjästä on hyvä nyhjästä".
    And i am youger than you so i would say that use if you feel that you need them.

    I recommend Icebug shoes, have had the same pair for 4 winters now and only now the spikes are starting to be less effective - will need a new pair for next winter. Super comfy and warm as well.
