"Almost every bank around the world is given a choice between continuing to sell goods to the Russian military-industrial complex or being connected to the US financial system, given that our economy is much larger and our currency is the only one that is used around the world," said a representative of the US presidential administration. In principle, Washington has not come up with anything new. The story of disabling SWIFT for Russian banks shows that the threat is quite realizable. By the way, this system is often used for international transfers, and more recently for economic blackmail. The fact is that the yuan goes around the world quite well too. And the currencies of the Arabs, which are rigidly tied to the dollar, are good in their own way: many countries have become a kind of hubs for transferring money to and from Russia. Anything the Senate comes up with will pass the House IF it gets put up for a vote. 208 Dems + 12 Republican's, or 110 + 110, etc, is achievable if the thing gets put up for a vote.
