These dudes are modern day Ferdinand Magellans! Cant even begin to explain how awesome this was to watch. Somebody give them the key to the city or some shit. "Living Clean, and loving jesus!" -Respect!
This is a wonderful film you guys made ! This will forever be one of the coolest records of what it takes to be an expedition kayaker. You will also feel sorrow and anger at the inexorable environmental destruction of mining and dams on display here.
`excellent content 😎, great edit, sick lines and a great story...easy to see why they don't want incomers on their land, might be gutted not to have some fun/excitement; but can't imagine what it would be like for the people living there to lose their lands, homes and family...respect for leaving them to it ✊🏻🤜🏻😎
Oh man, that song and dance about the head cutters was pretty out there. That's not really a thing anymore here in Ecuador. I think they were just messing with you. Some of these little communities are pretty weird and just make shit up. I leaned to paddle around Tena, Napo. I'm hoping to do a documentary on a hobo raft float trip down the Napo to Peru.
@@yermon__ huh? illogical. thats saying don't wear face protection. would you ride a motorcycle with no face protection??? on class 4 and above you have no idea or control of what you may encounter. you will get a face injury eventually.
I’ve paddled class 5 all over the place, I have not once had the need for a full face. Obviously if none of the best kayakers in the world wear one it is not a necessity. I doubt they provide anymore protection than a false sense of comfort. Motorcycles notoriously go hand in hand with blunt force trauma, there is more need for neck protection than a small piece of plastic across your chin. By no means am I telling anyone not to wear a full face, that is personal preference, I’m simply questioning the validity of them
@@yermon__ of course its your choice but i (as a class 4 boater) have seen several severe face injuries to others in my day- stick in the eye, broken teeth and a broked eye orbit bone. you just have no control what junk/terrain your floating over when your upsidedown and or swimming. i wonder if it has something to do with being younger than 40 ? LOL the past is not an accurate representation of the future.
I love Ecuador paddling so much. It's where I cut my teeth and learned myself so seeing these videos are special. I love that after the Mulatos didn't work out you guys went for another First D! What happened to his leg? Ever find out?
Well done everyone involved. I'm old enough to remember when Lindgren was a new kid on the block, lol. Still fun as a spectator sport. Any chance the village elders just wanted a bribe?
on the rio Mulatos, did you guys walk in from Salcedo? I know this river well, having walked up it in 86 with a local guide looking for a precolombian mine. It’s definitely kayakable from the confluence of the Parcanyacu at 1s 03” 59seconds by 78w 10”09seconds But there is a big canyon the local miners would go south of by a path which took you high into the mountains, the canyon is at 1s 03” 59seconds by 78w 10” 09 seconds so I don’t know what it’s like in there, the volume would be big for sure. Hope this info helps for your next shot at it.
Finally a proper kayak film. Good work!

Love the story telling of this film, it adds a nice perspective to an already sick first D.
ahh yes the thrill of hearing what's coming up around the next corner... life! ...its reality! thank you...

That plant was most likely a type of Stinging nettle. We have it in the Midwest
pure living right there. Did you ever find out what caused the leg burns? good tunes also. Nice WORK!!!
Y'all need to come to north ga in fall flood season and run the conasauga or Jack's.

Way to bring up the level my brothers!
i've been kayaking for 30 years now- and i'm constantly amazed at how few still don't wear face protection!
If you need face protection kayaking you shouldn’t have run the rapid

Hay muchos paletos en Zamora y son arrogantes y mezquinos.
Great boating, but should we REALLY be INVADING THE SPACE OF INDIGENOUS TRIBES FOR RECREATION. ? I MEAN REALLY !
