How To Use Pond Weed As Mulch For Your Garden

In this episode, we’re taking an invasive weed from the bottom of our pond and piling it onto raised garden beds as a mulch layer. Then, straw goes on top of the Pond Mulch.
Mulching is an ideal way to do everything you want to happen in a productive, low maintenance veggie garden. When mulching is done well it handily addresses:
• Soil - nourishing & protecting so it produces more
• Weeds - suppressing them so you work less
• Water - conserving moisture to save money and time
This Pond Mulch is being used on Tomatoes. Tomatoes love mulch. It helps regulate the temperature of their roots and prevents leaves touching the soil surface where they could contact disease.

Just did something similar this weekend, used the pond scum with grass clippings around the trees in orchard. We are in the process of whipping orchard into shape. I’m big on mulching for weed prevention and water retention.
