Probably the 185743d comment on this but the shadow and bone / grishaverse is going to blow your mind 😂😂 shadow & bone for romance and magic, six of crows for thrills, king of scars afterwards for giggles - it has it all 👌🏻 the state of us when you’ll start haha omg
You can choose! Depends on the vibe you want to have first! Six of crows is a heist, involves friendship, thieves, magic and skills Shadow and bone you’ll learn about said above magic. a girl from an orphanage discovers immense powers and is now swirled into a war and politics she did not expect I read the latter first, I would say it was nice because the magic is better explained there but you don’t necessarily need it to get into six of crows!!
I loved the grishaverse!!! I read the shadow and bone trilogy first, then the six of crows duology, then the king of scars duology and I really enjoyed it in that order :) if I remember correctly the end of the S&B trilogy will be spoiled if you read six of crows first just as an fyi 🫶🫶
Loved this one, you don’t make a single bad video and I look forward to every one! Very curious about how you do your hair. Stunning. Would love a hair routine video at some stage! ❤
The kingdom series was amazing! I loved them so much. Listening to you talking about it brings me back. I alsoread throne of the fallen and I will be soon reading throne of secrets.
This is such an interesting take! I feel we both had the exact same feelings in the end with the books and I also read them all in one week. I’m currently reading Throne of the Fallen and oh I’m just so so so so excited to know more about the other brothers and this world. I think I’ve become attached to them lol
Ellen you are so so so sweet and kind hearted UA-camr and you never stop making like this vlogs you are my inspiration and May God Bless You Always🥹🥰💖💖
Yes I do! Sorry for being slow - just popped the link to the shirt in the description box. The sweater vest is old but i'll do a hunt for some alternatives ❤️
Ok I’ve started Kingdom of the Wicked and was umming about whether to stick with it, Ellen you spurred me on I’d love you to do a book boyfriend ranking maybe at the end of the year. Also I’d recommend the All Souls books by Deborah Harkness because she is an amazing historian that draws on all her scholarship to create her world
OK I need everyones opinion: I’ve never read any fantasy but love romance and literary fiction and I’m tempted to read ACOTAR. Should I? Feels like a big commitment to even read the first one 😅
You must have checked this but Nocticadia is indeed not very fantasy. Anathema also from Keri Lake is fantasy and romance and the superior book out of the two. I enjoyed Throne of the fallen, there were a few good very amusing parts, not so much swoonworthy romance. My new favourite best book boyfriend is Taar in War bride by Sylvia Mercedes. Also, you neeeeed to read Quicksilver!
Hi Ellen, absolutely Love your channel, particularly your everyday videos and I’m a big reader myself however fantasy is a genre that is so not for me unfortunately and find myself not clicking on the bookish videos. 🙁 I know some people will comment saying, hey, don’t watch them then, but I just thought I’d give some feedback ☺️❤❤❤
Thank you for the feedback! You are free to watch whichever of my videos you like the most. I've also now created playlists for my channel - so if you click on the Lifestyle playlist you can just stick to watching those ❤️
I have added this to my TBR! Can’t wait xx

Is Shadow of Bone / The Grishaverse mostly YA in terms of romance?

I found another cowboy romance you need to read. Country Snow and Mistletoe by Anne Carrole. It starts with Thanksgiving & goes through Christmas.
I've been waiting for you to read Throne of the Fallen! I loved it so much, super swoony and Prince Envy is one of the best book boyfriends 😍
