spike1970 I'm still haunted by a couple of videos shown to new arrivals at one of my postings. Mask and auto-injectors. Don't leave home without them. A poncho is probably a good idea too and I'm blind so I needed those rubber frame glasses which are better not talked about.
Haha, after the Army, I used to upset my coworkers with "ah, they are mowing today... or we are all being gassed." Gotta love soldier humor. Love the looney tunes feel of this.
I like how the Brigadier made a "suggestion" to the captain, and how they indicated by showing a First Sargent's (E8) insignia just how F'Upd SNAFu was!!!
Wow, that reminds me of getting gassed on bivouac in basic. Its not too hard to sleep with them on when you're tired enough, but throwing up pork chow mein in one on quartering party is bad news.
Suess helped make the cartoon! Hard to believe somebody like Dr. Seuss would help create something like this, but it was very important with a lot of soldiers joining the US Army being illiterate at the time, and it also provided funding to Warner Bros. and Dr. Seuss, which was also very valuable because Manny was tight during the 40s! So yes, Dr. Seuss did work on this and help make it not only to educate the troops, but because if he didn’t, he may have gone under due to lack of money
Merci!

Captain ordered the 1st sergeant to " train" SNAFU in the care, feeding, and use of the gas mask. The gas should have come out the other end.
Even PFC Snafu knew the importance and always keeping your face mask handy.
That Gas monster is like Hexus the villain in the Australian fantasy film Fern Gully .
