oh my god yess!! i thought shadow of what was lost was so fun plot wise, i was annotating and hunting for clues the whole time. (i also liked caeden and loved the direction his story went in the second one)

hi regan! i've been watching your channel since you started basically despite never getting into high fantasy like you are. do you think maybe you can make a video (as an additional piece to your fantasy for beginners vid) where you rec series with different selling points i.e. authors who write very character focused vs great language vs great plotting. i would like to get some fantasy recs where character arcs and dynamics are more forward than the plot.

I just started The Shadow of What Was Lost!
Regan I highly encourage you to finish the Ryria series. I felt just like you when I read the first book. Cozy. Fun. Nothing mind blowing. But book 2 changed it for me and book 3 I died. Destroyed. I’m eating up Ryria chronicles now because I’m obsessed with Royce and Hadrian.

Just so you know when I get an add for a UA-cam channel and that ad has an ad within itself (sponsorship) it’s incredibly annoying. There are too many ads already. I don’t know if you orchestrated that or if it was a default UA-cam thing but I got an ad for this video and it had you mentioning a cricket sponsorship and to me, that’s infuriating. There’s no good excuse for an ad within an ad. Unless you didn’t control that aspect in which case that’s a perfectly valid excuse.
I did not control it, it’s an automatic function that YT decides themselves!
