Thank you for your video. My '84 Cutlass Ciera with the 4.3 diesel had the same failure, discovered during a trip from AZ to CA. At that time Chief Auto Parts in the greater LA area had a vendor that provided a copper and brass radiator through Chief's system. Changed out the radiator in my late uncle's driveway in San Pedro and had no leaks all the way home. I learned to shine a bright light up from below the radiator as I looked from above to detect any cracked molded ribs in the sides of the tanks.
Ah, the glow plug countdown... on W123 and older Mercedeses, which sometimes take that long or longer, Germans refer to it as the "Dieselgedenkminute" - the "Diesel remembrance minute"... Edit: at 1:33, is that a Renault (or even Bulgarrenault) R8 in the background??
I know the system well especially on W110 and W115s. Yes in the background is a Renault. It's a 1965 R8 that's right hand drive. ua-cam.com/video/HcJGk8-jnBk/v-deo.htmlsi=bA73tmV7uA3cmyow
@@CarysGarage Hmm, interesting. I wonder if your radiator has been replaced sometime in last 227k miles :) I've restored several classics and had pretty good experiences with hard-to-find parts with RockAuto. Since the current needs to be replaced anyway, I would take it out and look for a part number on it and match it up. I could see the 4.3 listed for the Chevy, Buick and Olds - but that Caddy is tough. Very unique and interesting find! I'm a diesel fan and currently own a 2018 Chevy Cruze diesel - not many know they exist either.

Got to say, I don't think I'd ever see a Hasidic Jewish mechanic.
Thanks, but you still haven't. I'm not Hasidic.
do you have a link to the new radiator?
Rock Auto has the radiator GM GENUINE 21406 for $352.
I looked at that one. It's not correct for my car.
