I think it would be cool if you did straw polls: have few select countries you wouldn't mind going to and have subscribers vote on your next destination for you to visit and vlog, preferably places you haven't been to yet.
Interesting video. Some people from Azerbaijan gifted a statue of their dictator to the city to put in that park. They were oblivious about who he was until people started complaining. The compromise was to remove the statue and leave that map in its place. Mexico is in North America though. Come back any time.
haha, I actually almost switched the flight after they announced them, but the timing would've made me lose my evening, and I was lucky enough to be upgraded on the 777 anyway. Sometimes you gotta focus on the destination and not the journey, even if you lose out on a new plane haha
It's called Independence Square (Plaza de la Independencia) because of the Dos de Mayo Uprising, a rebellion in 1808 by the people of Madrid against the occupation of the city by French troops. It was part of the Peninsular War
Maybe I just like busy places, but Mexico City is one of my favorite cities in the world. There's a little bit of everything, good and bad, just like any other large city must. Also, "eerie place" seems like a nice way to describe Tlatelolco, I've never gone there but just thinking about it gives me the chills. And! 4 years after EDIT because algorithm got me here again! I've now been to Tlatelolco and it became a must stop for me. The eerie is just a misconception, and yeah, massacres happened there YEARS ago, but it's one of the chilliest (as in, calm and happy chill) places in Mexico City, a very quiet neighborhood with some beautiful hidden corners and sooo much history. It's calm at all hours. People there are mostly 50+ years olds that have lived through everything and have built a very nice community of "hey we may never speak but if I see you I'll wish you a good day and if you ever need anything I'll be glad to help". Also I found a cheap sushi restaurant to stop by before returning to the more chaotic parts of the big city. The eerie is just magic now.
I think a mcro trip on a long haul flight from Europe to Mexico City for just a day & a 1/2 is a waste of time & money for a few reasons. 1) You're travel time is longer than your entire trip. I's at ;east 12 hours each way to & from Mexico to Europe. 2) There is tons to see & do. The main tourist attractions can't all be enjoyed in 1 day. 3) Mexico city is very cheap. I stayed in a 4 star hotel in the center of the city for 6 days & it only cost me $173 ($29 night). You can stay in decent hotels/hostels for $10 night. 4) Food & travel in Mexico City is very cheap. Because the peso is low you can dinner in a nice restaurant for under $10, good street food for $1. Uber is a great way to get around the city. A cross-city trip was only $5. To the airport about $10. Also Mexico City is very safe. Just use common sense. A Micro trip might make sense to a small city, or a small city or a small country like Lichtenstein where you can see everything in 1 day & where a hotel would be very expensive, probably more than the flight for 1 night if you're traveling from Europe. Even a long 1 day stopover in Singapore would make sense if you were already traveling in Asia, bit flying 12 hours form London to Mexico city, which is the fastest with a direct flight is just foolish.
I was in Bremen for 2 weeks recently, but when my stay there finished, I still had 2 days to my flight from Hamburg to Sofia. That's why I decided to go to Amsterdam since it's like only 5 hours with an IC train. So I spend there 24 hours and it was actually a really cool experience!
There are many things to see in Mexico City. It all depends what it is one likes to do. It has an insane number of museums. The restaurants are wonderful across a wide spectrum of costs. Hanging out in neighborhoods can be fun and absorbing the cultural is also worthwhile. But it depends what one likes to do. Three days of a month would not be an unusual amount of time although most people like to move from one Mexican city to the next and mix big city life with colonial towns and/or beach front relaxing trips or "spring break" type destinations.
Mexico D.F. is perfectly safe. Its not Sao Paulo, its not Santo Domingo. As in every city in the world, just don’t go looking for ghettos. I love Mexico D.F. Visited there twice back in the 90’s. Hope to visit again soon. Great travel vlog.

One of the biggest flags in the world is in your own country. The Queens flag which flies over Buckingham palace when she is there has two sizes. One for normal occasions but another big one for ceremonial occasions like the queens birthday and opening of parliament etc.
Come to San Salvador, you can explore the city, climb the volcano and go to the beach on the same day. We use dollars too. Just stay around Antiguo Cuscatlán/Santa Tecla and SS west, it's very safe. Guatemala City and Antigua are like 4 hours away by car too
I'm wondering how soon you get to airports before your flights? It seems you travel only with a backpack, but you also vlog a lot. Wondering if that effects the time you try and get there at all.
whenever you fly business for some reason i just s a l i v a t e over all the food. i havent been to a buffet or nice restaurant in months and that looks absolutely delicious. i dont even eat meat and it looks so good.
@ Ibx2cat It is called Independence Plaza because when Napoleon betrayed the Spaniards and annexed Spain, the Spaniards fought back and regained their independence. Hence...
I went to Mexico City and got Montezuma's revenge. My first flight was on BOAC to London in 1964. I requested to visit the cockpit and got to sit with the pilot for a while. Then in London at the British Museum, I requested to see the ancient gold coin collection and got to handle the rarest items in the back room. Those days are over.
They’re close together because the Spaniards destroyed some of the pyramids and use the rocks to build their church. You can see this also on some of the old buildings at the historic center.
