So I'm currently a freshman in the Southerners and people were talking about how great of a show "I'll Fly Away" was so I went back and watched it... chills. So many chills.
Loved the entertainment. No.matter how time passes all shows are great. You feel the music and power. Over lots of years, the southerners would completely fill all.seats in the stadium. We all are family forever.😄
This is quickly becoming my favorite show since "From Russia With Love". The ballad is just awesome. I love the guard this season. This show is only going to grow as the season progresses. It will truly be one of the Southerners' masterpieces.
This is a beautiful show, especially when there is a key change in "I'll Fly Away" then a measure or so of percussion and then into "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" with the band and the color guard ... Dang, that is breathtaking and excellent and beautiful.
I'm part of scottsboro high school's danceline and I experienced watching this in person at the midsouth competition last season. It was so amazing, and it really inspired me. Now I'm a jsu commit and I can't wait to try out for the ballerina line and be apart of this amazing band.when I'm a senior. Jsu's band beats any band, any day!
I taught high school students for 30 years and was a majorette sponsor for YEARS. Also, all three daughters were in the great Hewitt-Trussville Marching Band. The Ballerina uniforms to be be glitzy to attract girls who want to dance there. Don't worry; nothing can take away from the central focus: the fabulous playing members; the beauty and bling of new Ballerina uniforms will only add to the total package. Please take away some of the "prop" sideline routines, and incorporate the kicks/spins!
Of course, the Southerners were always one of the greatest experiences of my three years cheering for JSU, especially standing by the band after the game while the members harmonized in the singing of "I'll Fly Away." That is why I especially love the closer with the wings! Wow! I must say that I was very disappointed in the Ballerinas' ballet routines with the exception of their feature! What happened to their signature precision spins/ kicks? The uniforms NEED MORE BLING TO ATTRACT hs GIRLS!
