I'm not doubting his skill or tradesmanship, but as a detailer myself, this is absurdly expensive. I could upgrade my products and add a few steps in to give a near identical finish and charge less than 700 for a full detail. I could probably get a finish 90-95% as good for 300 (if machine polishing isn't necessary). People with too much money unfortunately don't understand the value of things, so will believe they are getting something worth the money, when it's really not.
