FYI: it was the USA that caused the Cuban missile Crisis. And, it was the USSR that mainly alleviated the threat with valid diplomacy, patience, and reality. They talked down the USA, not the other way around.

@@MundiTaurus You are actually correct - since the U.S. had nuclear weapons in Italy and mostly Turkey. As RFK Jr. relates, a diplomat shuttled papers between JFK and Khruschev - until both sides removed their missiles!
