I’m a “aggressive light support” Loadout: - M11/XP-54/Sniper (mostly M11) - Grapple - Portal - Gas nade - Fire nade Anytime I get the chance to open the vault, I set a portal to the box, run to the closest cash-out machine, and set the 2nd portal. Then use the nades to prevent steals. If possible I’ll set portals for my team to get back faster to the cash-out machine to defend
@@tuso9397 well, I ain’t a bot. And I have a good win rate with this load out. Cuz 95% of the time I insert the box in the cash out machine. Which means I can just tell my team to set up the defense around the machine, cuz they know for sure that I won’t miss the box. And it’s easier to defend than steal.
This might be a wild take but, on light I usually go dash + sword, tracker, smokes, gas. Tracker can give me a bit better chase potential or give warnings to the team (or a quick bit of extra damage), smokes give me better "evasion" and can make sure the gas isn't just burnt off by a pyro grenade or heavy.
Honestly I run this sometimes, I just die often due to not being as decisive with the sword's secondary compared to the likes of Eidorian and would fallback to the LH1/XP-54. Sometimes I would switch to Vanishing Bomb instead of Tracker if I can't quite target enemies from afar for recon info
Support light is actually really good if you communicate it well. Light now has many options to support your teammates and you can get ally totems pretty easily with gateway or dash (dash serves as a good way to quickly get in and get out of the dangerous areas)
Yep. Making the most of the Vanishing Bomb+Smoke Grenade to cloak you and your teammates and obscure is great for both safe entry in a likely guarded area or clutch if they are close to being pinched -- sometimes I deliberately don't cloak to distract if possible. The shift of gadgets from Medium to Light with the Sonar Grenade and Tracking Dart is really helpful and can be great to deal with pesky Light Invis and Light Snipers at least for info.
@@autotropicplaybench1819 I definitely agree with the shift of tracking dart/sonar to light. For me personally, I typically play solo, so I don't run vanish bomb (hard to get them grouped for an all invis team) but I really like smoke grenade to cover for teammates when they take cash out, as well as creating possible escapes for me to use in case both teammates go down
IDK what it would be called, but i use throwing knives, frag grenade, breach charge, and gateway charge with invisibility cloak. I mostly either flank the enemy, find people on their own, or hide behind my team to get big damage
a bit of a support class for light is the chaser. The chaser light's job is to chase down and secure kills via flanking mid fight to behind thier cover or to take down any fleeing enemy, there to help in any one-on-one fights in your team. Its the ony one i find kind of useful with grapple and use vanish bomb to create the illusion that your teammate is alone
For me personally I like to play heavy with a sledgehammer, rpg, grenade and explosive mine. Another way you have to play this is by looking at the bottom of a building and specifically the pillars and just taking them all out. This pulls the whole building down and as otter said, makes everything super chaotic. Oh also you have to use charging slam to help pull down the buildings. It might not get you the most amount of kills but damn will it be ever fun and help your teammates out immensely. Just try it you love it.
I played a "support light" LH1 round a week ago with two fragger Mediums and it was incredibly fun. I used dash, would spot and sonar, take off angles to draw attention and they'd kill. I could dash in and grab their statues, it's like the electron around a nucleus. We destroyed in the round and I had maybe 1 kill, 1 death, and more support score than both of them. It was incredibly fun; it's worth trying to figure out, but seriously requires solid, capable teammates.
As a cl40 enjoyer I must say you're spot on except defib is actually sub-optimal you should be double mine + movement for better outpositioning and potential flanking to secure safer res's. It's more versatile and let's you focus on staying alive then banking on a clutch res which could put you in real danger with 4 ammo rushing in headfirst
I disagree though. I'm a cl40 otp using the gas mine, zip, and defib. Being able to double res gives you more utility to your team and lets you play more defensively. Your dps is pretty low, but your burst dmg is super high. You gain a lot by having a teammate secure elims or reduce shots needed from 3 to 2. The defib is super important because it lets you still engage in fights and use your nades to deter enemies from getting close to your revived teammate to give them time to breathe. btw, what rank are you in? I'm in plat 1 and I almost never see another cl-40 player.
I'm highly offended by being branded as a "lazy medium" instead of a "mega-big-brain-be-careful-you-just-activated-my-trap-card-you-dolt medium" But being serious for a moment, after not touching this game for months, I hopped back in with some friends to try the new mode. Running the lazy medium class with gas mines on the back of the platform, a jump pad on the front to send people flying, and a turret placed just off the wall to add some cover and some supportive fire was a real good time. I was racking up 5 kill and 15 assist games all night, it was pretty darn fun.
As a OTP nade medium, I always run gas mine, zips, and defib. The subclass capitalises on highground far more than every other class, which is why the zips are important. The ziplines can also be broken in one nade shot, allowing for super fast escapes and repositionings without letting enemies follow. The exp mine isnt that good since it only does 20% of its damage before armed. I use the gas mine for defensive crowd control and spacing with instant detonation. The gas mine also allows you to properly kite enemies to go directly into your nades, and will obscure their vision while allowing you to see them. This build allows you to really control the playfield and force enemies to play into your nades. Though the skill ceiling is ungodly high, you can actually completely outplay even the best players with this build.
You forgot one: grenade launcher heavy! Mostly a defense focused class, they hang back and use their extensive experience with the rotary grenade launcher to mortar hotspots in the map from afar, providing both damage if done well and team utility in the way of flanking, distractions and defending objectives solo. Think grenade launcher, goo gun, barricades, and from there it depends on if you lean more towards damage or defense. Damage? RPG and C4. Defense? Dome shield and antigravity
Dash is nice for swiping statues to revive Okay... You didn't have to call me out with the riot shield... It's probably one of the least intuitive weapons to get value out of though
Eh almost got me I function as a weird inbetween of movement and support medium. A goo plus jumping pad gives you insane horizontal movement, which means you can ditch the zip line, in favor of the incredibly versatile goo. Goo is a support's best friend since it blocks off entry points, catches enemies, and is a great oh shit, the entire enemy team is shooting at me, ass saver. Since the jump pad is also an ass-saver you're a very fast, very tricksy medium, that is pretty terrible at damage. It's a very fun and effective build, although frankly the only reason I use it is because I love the revolver, and without the ability to cut off FCAR, and Lewis angles a revolver main is going to find themselves pincushioned by gunfire. With a longe range weapon, a movement-focused support medium would be better served by the zipline for the movement combo. But considering that it's the only medium weapon that allows me to consistently get the beautiful sound of headshots I'm sticking to my weird build.
I often alternate between Riot shield med, btw you got that spot on for both loadout and playstyle. And what I'd call Close support light primarily for powershift as the extra teammates lets me play more fast and loose getting in close and back out as need be. Loadout is throwing knives/m11/sh1900 Grappling hook, Goo grenade, Pyro/Frag grenade, Tracking dart. Typically i roam near the point marking enemies for teammates and shadowing teammates to help in combat by adding damage or if it goes wrong throw a goo grab the statue and dip with grapple to revive them, and if i see a light sniper or medium supporting with revives and heals i mark them and hunt them down often throwing goo between them and their team to separate them and aid my escape after the kill.

Running Medium without defibs is just trolling and losing on purpose.
Please avoid using the blur visual effect while editing the video. This effect is horrible to watch. It literally hurt my eyes to watch it.
