Fresh 1/2 c catnip, 3 tbl lemon juice, 3 tbl apple cidar vinegar, 2 cups water.
Bring to boil a few minutes, then simmer about 20 min. Place in refrigerator over night.
Next day, strain liquid then pour into a spray bottle.
Fresh catnip grow in many areas...people might mistake it for fresh mint because the leaves, stalk, and smell is a lot like fresh mint.

My mare outlived her only philly to almost 30 years old. She passed 8 years ago on my birthday and I'm still grieving.

My little two year old maltipoo was bit by a tick hear it in northwest New Jersey got limes disease and immediately had trouble walking. Stop jumping up on the couch to sit on my lap couldn’t go up the steps. I had to carry her up the steps. This happened right away within a week or a few days later. after antibiotics twice injected, she seem to be herself again after two months thankfully. her Veterinarian is not Holistic but I like him a lot said that I had to use the tick repellent that you squeeze onto the back of the dogs neck a chemical. He kind of shook his head when I mentioned the Cedarwood spray. I decided to get the eight month collar all natural and the Cedarwood spray to try to prevent her getting bit again I just hope it works because I don’t want to use the chemical since a friend of mine many years ago her daughter put it on the back of her cats neck, but accidentally squirted in her eye. She died of a brain tumor behind that same eye two years later.

Ticks are on the rise for humans too. Human Lyme disease is three times as high as breast cancer. Yet, not enough study is done on this. I will gladly use this recipe. Anything to protect my baby.

@@DonnaLLoyd-lt6ot I don’t understand your question. I have Lyme disease and so I know a lot about it. And, BTW Lyme was created by the govt on Plumb Island. They planned to drop the ticks on Asia. Well, a lot of them escaped. There’s a book called Bitten, which explains it. There was a vaccine many years ago for Lyme but it harmed people. Dogs should also not get the Lyme vaccine either.

I give it to mine as well, but I’d still will put it in my mix.
I was going to mention this in a comment so I am glad you said it! I add Turmeric to my dogs food for the joint support aspect. I also add a dash of black pepper to activate the Curcumin. We need to start internal and make the host (our dogs) less appealing to these nasty little bugs!
@@Eternal_11_Sasha i make a paste with turmeric, black pepper, cinnamon (a specific kind-there's two and it does matter), and ginger! He's so healthy, and has not needed any vetprofen since about 3 weeks after I started giving this

I also add one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to my dog's water bowl everyday as the smell of apple cider makes their skin smell that ticks don't like at all and they avoid it and won't attach to the dog.
Cedar wood essential oil with a carrier oil is an insect repellent. Works great.
Cedar oil is toxic to cats, not sure about dogs, but it works great for most insects

Oh wow I didn't know about your clavicle.
I can definitely emphasize with you as I had a distil clavicle fracture on January 25th of this year.
I opted for surgery and now have the hardware in me.
I've been going to physical therapy and am getting a good amount of motion back but still can't lift my arm all the way up and back. They told me it may or may not happen.
Anyway my big Bernese mountain dog got excited when my husband drove in and he ran so fast that I couldn't get out of the way. Literally was slammed to the floor, ouch!!!
I will be praying for your recovery sir!!!

I had a beautiful, 11 year old dog die from ticks related health problems 3 weeks ago and it broke my heart to lose her. Now I have 2 more suffering with the same thing. Wow, tumeric oil. That's a surprise. I use some kind of cedar oil. Love your choice of base products, too. I will have to try some tumeric oil. I can even still use it with the cedar.

Isn't Citigroup citronella poisonous to dogs? We are told in the U.S. not to put citronella plant where they can get it.
We have both; love natural remedies but does it work on cats too?

Does the witch hazel with aloe need to specifically be the non-alcohol type? (I can find the brand you show on-line, but not that identical label, so the label may just have changed over time…)

Question: I rescued a feral cat two yeas ago in Ojai California. He has respiratory problems due to Thomas Fire. I took him to a local vet where I was talked into doing a panel to find out if he had worms because he bite off the fur on the lower back around the tail. Long story short it came back negative they gave me drugs to treat him. I did not do it, because the label says could cause cancer, tumors, respiratory problems, etc. etc. $400 later still no healing. I’ve been using bio tenacious earth on him and just wondering what would be a good remedy because it’s still biting. I’m wondering if it’s mites I feel it in my eyes if I don’t wash my hands immediately. I know somethings going on he’s a house cat for the last year. Can you please help me? Thank you so much.

His bottle of witch hazel hes using is the original, not the one with aloe.
I see the bottle does not have aloe, but he states to use “Witch Hazel with aloe”, and the on-screen caption also says “w/Aloe”.
Is the witch hazel with aloe a face toner? I don't see any oil. Where can I get this? I've searched and toner is all I can find.

I have Chows with SUPER THICK coats. I can't tell they even have a tick till its huge. Can you focus or suggest how this is applied to them? A flea comb is just not an option. Thanks!

Many, many pets are suffering instant ot slow deaths from the neurotoxins and sadly many vets are in total denial of the causes.

Dr. J thank you SO much for all your wonderful tips and natural remedies. I share them with my friends and family. I would like to make a suggestion that would be helpful for us and possibly decrease questions in the comments.
Those of us who are cat parents don’t find as much information as dog tips. All are greatly appreciated. If you could specify that the remedies are safe for cats as well, it would be greatly helpful. Also, if NOT safe for cats, maybe provide a remedy that is cat safe. Especially your tick and flea sprays, etc.

If dogs already eat turmeric will it help them with ticks or will I make this and use this?

Also dogs can have a bit of garlic which works well.
No. My dog takes turmeric daily for her arthritis and she was bit by a tick.
I would add a few drops of castile soap or baby shampoo to the turmeric oil 1st, then blend in the coconut oil, then the witch hazel. This is how I add essential oils to various non oily, no rinse sprays.

I purchased the witch hazel and coconut oil from one of your videos but I don’t think that one had the turmeric oil. I do have turmeric in my spices, can I use this with the combination of the coconut/witch hazel? Love his videos and comments. 😊
So which is it…100 or 125 mls of witch hazel. Even if you were talking about the witch hazel and coconut oil together then it would be 130. Could you please clarify the amounts please.
Never had one on even myself it’s weird since I’ve always had the exposure I must give off a scent creatures don’t need lol
Does the Turmeric essential oils stain furniture or white bedding?
I fully support these ideas, but oil and water don't mix and as someone who has made homemade cosmetic things this hurts my eyes to see. Of course, this is highly antibacterial and probably won't get old even if nothing mixes properly, but for even distribution of things I'd just use liquid coconut oil and rub it in with hands.

I accidentally put advantix dog on my cat. It was the weekend so I carried her today. The Dr. Gave her a steroid shot to reduce the swelling in her brain. It hits the nervous system. Dr. Jones if you are reading this is there anything else I can do to help her?

Ticks are my number 1 paranoia (I used to go to a doctor who is a world-renowned specialist in tick-borne illnesses). Will def try this but…(and yellow-orange fur is a small price to pay) is this going to stain my dog’s hair? Her bib is already orangey from ingesting turmeric…
To get the oils to mix and stay mixed you need to put it in an alcohol then put it into the witch hasale I'm guessing one to two tablespoon of vodka or rubbing alcohol
I made your spray that has neem oil and cedar oil, coconut oil. Witch hazel, and Castile soap. Can use both sprays?
