5 acre Black Incubator Farm in Petersburg Virginia

Two years ago @agrariantrust helped us raise the money to buy a farm in Petersburg. @tyronepowercherry has a 99 year lease on his 1/4 acre. @healinghopeurbangardens has a 1/4 acre as does Baba Obar. We put a community kitchen on site, cold storage, got the well working and the electricity up, and there is more to come.
Folks that come through our 12 week Central Virginia Urban Farm Fellowship can access land to start their farm journey on the @petersburgoasiscommunityfarm as an alternative to land access if they don’t have the money to buy they own land. Our vision is that they will graduate to larger acreage that we own in Amelia County or even Henrico. All 85 acres we own through the Central Virginia Agrarian Commons - our own community land trust.
This shit is real. No rants on the internet. Reparative Land Justice and real life sweat and blood. People talk a lot on here but I don’t see the lip service matching the real life works. If you can’t taste, touch, see and feel it - how do you measure the tangible impact?
