When here after running the Chicago Marathon. I was not impressed. Too much dough and the flavors were off. I don't recommend this place. If this is best in Chicago, it's very sad.
That's funny. My girlfriend moved to the US (NYC) from China a few years ago. We had QXYD on a recent visit to Chicago (I had them before a few times - thought they were awesome so I took her here). She told me it's not easy to find actual good dumplings in America and these were definitely the best she's had in America in any city (NYC, San Francisco, LA, Boston, DC, etc). Whenever dumplings come up to her Chinese friends, she'll talk about these even if they have no plans of being in Chicago anytime soon. From my personal experience traveling through China too, they were completely on par with the ones that were considered to be good by locals. These specific ones are more from Dongbei (i.e. Shenyang) which is where she is from and called these "very authentic and very, very good. SImilar to what you'd find in China there." I trust she knows what she's talking about.
John Ham These dumplings are no joke - the amount of raving I’ve heard from actual Chinese folks is legit. That said, I’m more than willing to entertain some of your suggestions as to better places.

You should see what passes as chinese dumplings in south carolina. I'm pretty sure they buy them from the frozen section in Walmart
why so few of comments?
he did not show how it is made
Tried this place last year. Nothing really special. I would prefer shanghai dumplings over this.
For first few seconds it looked like different flavoured used condoms
random guy same

racism at its best, not only is the host demeaning but they're adding subtitles to the staff who speak perfect english.
