Took about 25 mins but got there in the end. Got a 1 oz, 2 oz, and two 1/2 oz. Contrary to many others, I really like the design on the silver. The front view with flames/water coming out of the dragons mouth/nose looks great. I think people just need to take more time to appreciate the detail. 😊
Only started last year, have the 2023 (2×gold + 7 silver each 1 oz) rectangular ; 2024 (2×gold 1 oz + 15 2 oz silver; love it or hate it, do not care am divorced😅) they are great for me
I picked mine up over the past couple days. Got the 1/2 oz, 1 oz, 2 oz and 5 oz Bought them all from different sellers. I got some good deals. With Silver at 29.22, I bought a total of 8.5 oz.estimate I spent about $85 on premiums. I'm very pleased with my purchases.
The silver dragon looks amazing. I don't think people associate dragons with motherhood. I think it's the one thing you can make an exception for with the Lunar series. The gold looks better in hand than the photos, which I thought were underwhelming.
Managed to get 1oz dragon from you guys but your right mike I think the gold design is better but hey this one will probably pop on the 5 oz coin so looking forward to that one
Really dissapointed they always put the best designs on the gold and the silver dragon design this time around seems to be a bit lack luster, damn. The gold looks amazing though.
@@GNClark judging by the Perth mint release video there seem to be a large portion of there staff with Chinese heritage so you would think someone would have said something.
Ing Ing Jong's designs are amazing. She also designed the Perth mint's previous lunar series- The Ox and the Rabbit both in silver and gold. I believe in her talent and I will buy every series she will design including this newly release dragon.
The gold Dragon is so nice and classy….the silver design looks like the designers had an hour notice. 😕 Was 1900+ 2oz available when I checked. Can’t see that size being the big winner long term. Thanks Bullion Now. Always appreciate you guys. Enjoy your public holiday on Tuesday.
Gold dragon looks good. Silver dragon is not so good. Looks like some sort of giant squid or krakken type creature but you have to look really hard to see a dragon. What drugs was the designer on.
I was so disappointed with the Perth mint skipping the 5oz Ox colored version. Just picked up the 1oz Gold dragon with dragon privy for the same price as the regular. Super happy with find.
We do! (well, our sister company Little Coin Shop does). Perth have just launched the Lunar Snake, so there's not the full variety left of the dragon anymore. But check out what we do have here! www.littlecoinshop.com.au/?rf=kw&kw=dragon
I've been hanging out for the dragon for months and months eager to get a 1kg and a 1oz silver to stick in the display cabinet; credit card by the keyboard ready to pounce.. I wanted a piece of art and instead they've made a piece of crap. Silver: The eye roams around struggling to anchor within the image and then struggles to separate the head from the body. The dragon looks like its attached itself to a window and is trying to get in.. Still using the queens effigy ..to squeeze a double sale of a Queenie and a Charlie; we see your manipulation Perth Mint. [sliding the credit card back into my wallet and walking away dragging my face on the floor]
Same, i was waiting to buy a 1oz gold dragon. ( i don’t buy too much silver) but thought the design was ugly and stupid looking. Might just grab a 1/4oz of it and grab another buffalo with that money.
I think it looks way too Chinese and I am Chinese (silver one). The tiger was an amazing design. The gold design is way nicer.....will there be a dragon privy? Lol
Oh boy have the 1 oz gold been selling fast (on the website). I waited a bit to see how the numbers would go, see if I could put off buying for a day or a week or whatever. But down they plummeted, then a restock or something and they've been swallowed up by eager punters too. So I stopped from making my late breakfast, ordered and sent the money to BN. At this rate you're going to be out by this arvo!
The designs haven't had time to bed in yet, and I have an habit of putting the negative before the positive. But on initial inspection of the design, I agree with Michael about the silver. To me there's not enough detail. I don't mind simple design, if it's powerful, which this is not. Scales are too big and with no flare, etc. But we'll see what we think when the coin's in hand. The silver winner so far has been the 2024 Samoa Year of the Dragon from Scottsdale, especially in the antiqued. As for the gold, initial impression was meh, but it's ok. Certainly it didn't put me off from buying one (although knowing it's ongoing popularity as a bulwark against selling other gold which I love more and instead just offloading this helped). Who knows, I may come to love it, especially as I collect all the various sizes and when I lay them out together, they glow up at me from the desk, with dragony glory.
Warming to the coins already, even if the silver doesn't have any flair in the way it's rendered, the composition is nice. I am really disappointed that there's no dragon baby and mama though, come on. It would be a first. For baby dragons, there''s always those 1/5th ounce gold coins which are terribly expensive and look like they're drawn by a simpleton. /slows down in the sharpened claw opining, sorry.
not gonna lie I was hoping we would have Charles for the 2024 dated coins. and it seems it will continue for at least the kangaroo and kookaburra which is unfortunate imo
It appears that the 2024 lunar gold dragon is only a slight modification in design from the 2012 one. It also appears very cartoonish. The dragon on the myths and legends dragon and koi coin appears much more desirable. I am actually rather disappointed with the 2024 lunar dragon design
Missed the mark entirely in my humble opinion. Subpar design and the Queen in 2024? This is the first time I actually saved specifically for a release date. Disappointed. Enough so, I think I will redirect the funds to the 2oz Unicorns next week. I may kick myself later, but I just don't feel motivated by the silver design.
I couldn't resist... compromised and went for the Platinum. Was time to add to my platinum stack anyway, but I normally choose standard bars for platinum. Liked the design much better than the silver, platinum at a great price to buy and still get the upside potential of collectible. Win/win.
I love controversy, makes a change.. have only 15x2oz silver and 2x1oz gold of 2024.. 2023 rectangular 14x1ox silver, 2x1oz gold...if needed, hope not cc sell and retain one of each for sentimental
About minute 12 he mentions waiting until just after Chinese new year to purchase. I am watching this video just 10 days after Chinese new year 2024, LOL. I do plan on buying the 1 oz and 1/4 oz gold dragon. I do not like the silver dragon design therefore will not buy any of those.
Getting a bit annoyed at Perth. A design that doesn’t fit the series… and the queen still on the back. They need to get their act together. But I’ll still buy it so maybe they don’t feel motivated to change
I'm done with this series, selling my lunar silver. Silver puking dragon. No more mother baby theme, no room on coin for privy? Winding twirling rope looking dragon weird claws I'm sorry I don't like it at all.

Looks fantastic. I like the design on both the Silver and the gold. I think they look great
That gold design is awesome!!
Thanks for the scoop on the Lunar Dragon Series. That Gold Dragon is amazing, going to be sold out in minutes I bet. Stack’em early! 🐲

How does someone in America buy the gold drsgon? The website says not availably in my location.
I really like the silver dragon design. Seems those of us who like it are in the minority, but that's not a bad thing. 😊
Managed to grab the 1 oz silver dragon took about 20 mins but got her done.
I would of preferred the gold design on the silver coins.
Totally.
Managed to get 1oz dragon from you guys but your right mike I think the gold design is better but hey this one will probably pop on the 5 oz coin so looking forward to that one
Can I purchase if I live in the United States?? And can I pay with a credit card and how long will shipping take?
Love Your honesty Michael. Always respected it mate.
Really dissapointed they always put the best designs on the gold and the silver dragon design this time around seems to be a bit lack luster, damn. The gold looks amazing though.
The siiver dragon was never made as a mother and baby, it was always the dragon with the flaming pearl...the dragon mother's egg...
What I don't get either is, why have they gone with a Water Dragon when 2024 is actually the year of the Wood Dragon???
Weird right!
Lack of research by the designers ?

The dragon looks like its attached itself to the house window and is trying to get in.
If you have a look at the coloured version the design gains more context
Many thanks for the award video. What do you think of the proof sets of silver?
Got my gold n silver coins ..stoked :) cheers guys
Oh there finally here after all the hype, They look cool. I like them
That gold certainly is pretty
Gold design looks 👌
Great video👌 It's a pity that you are in Australia and not in America.🙂
It's a pity you're in America and not Australia .🙃
Just ordered one silver coin web site was super slow and it took 15 minutes but I finally got it 😊
Great video as always boys 👏
I was so disappointed with the Perth mint skipping the 5oz Ox colored version.
Just picked up the 1oz Gold dragon with dragon privy for the same price as the regular. Super happy with find.
They should of used the design from the rectangle dragon on the silver lunar ones ..n added a little baby Flying in the background
I've been wanting a 1kg of the rectangle dragon, it's a cool design.
Dragons don't have babies. They just have eggs but they never hatch 😢 That's why they're so rare 😂
Do you ever do the proof version?
We do! (well, our sister company Little Coin Shop does). Perth have just launched the Lunar Snake, so there's not the full variety left of the dragon anymore. But check out what we do have here! www.littlecoinshop.com.au/?rf=kw&kw=dragon
Everything looks good in gold
Gold is awesome. Sliver a bit messy

@@plumairalbannach8492 Good point. I didn't factor in the time difference. Thanks for highlighting.
It’s beautiful , mmm this cake tastes great
Now I think about it, the dragon is posed the same way as the 2012 dragon, with a wider body.
And website 💥
Love the Gold!
They missed badly on the silver.
that’s an understatement
The silver is nice but not great, I love the design on the gold & platinum
Was looking forward to baby dragon
the perth mint silver dragon looks like an angry version of the royal mint dragon design. agree with mike that the gold version looks better
I can’t watch the vid cause I’m at work, has the platinum ballot been drawn?
In the process of being drawn!
I'm glad they didn't do a mother and baby design. It's a mythical creature.
