I remember getting this rocket when I was a kid and love it. The Big Daddy and Shadow were my favorites. I just ordered a Big daddy for me and a starter kit for my 11 year old and I am kind of bummed they changed the color scheme and graphics lol.
Nice... I have 2 big daddy's... one built stock... the other built out with plywood fins and motor centering rings and a larger 29mm motor mount tube... to accept economax F67... can't wait to see it fly...
That Bigger Daddy jumped off the pad in a big hurry. Impressive. I live in the metro area, and would like to watch some time. Where and when would I find you launching?
Great story i just got started building rockets and im interested in buying a tracker like u used can u give me the name and perhaps were i can buy 1 thanks so much you build some beautiful rockets
I don't know much about rocketry but I am curious about the chute deployment. I see it was set to deploy at 800'. Does that mean it was still headed to earth at VERY HIGH SPEED when the chute deployed, and snapped the chord? That would put the bottom half VERY near the nose cone you retrieved. Was the strap holding the 2 halves together a Kevlar chord or something else?
Glad to see you Got your Rocket Back Gerald :) Stephen T Tripoli #15941 hope to see you at a launch soon I’ve kinda transitioned into Pyrotechnics at the moment
Nice video just getting into rockets myself here I launch weed rockets when I was younger say like age six to ten years old then once at summer camp when I was sixteen it’s been like seven years since I launched a rocket and I just launched four rockets last weekend Bought a pack of Estes C6-7 to replace my B6-4 so should have more power on my next launch I don’t think my rockets will be as powerful as your second big daddy rocket bc that is on a whole mother level 😂 but eventually if I stick with it I might join a club and get into that sorta stuff I know there are at least two that I’ve found in Connecticut not sure if they are still active I’ll have to find out
That Bigger Daddy was pretty bad ass.
Awesome video, well done. Glad you got it back, want to see that beast soar again!
Wow! Watching in Aug. 2024. I’m glad you found the rocket, (what a mystery), and I hope it flies again!
Nice production, well done. I'm happy for you that you got the rest of your rocket back. I noticed that you did a great job on the fin fillets.
That thing absolutely yeeted off the pad ! :0
Thanks for sharing! My son had so much fun watching your story unfold. He'll be launching just first rocket this weekend!
That Bigger Daddy takeoff was insane! Obviously, the kinetic speed at the time of deployment was too much.

Any news on how the shock cord snapped? Did it slice on the end of the airframe or other?
Need a bigger launch rod, that thing bent like crazy.
