When I was a child, my favorite book was Peter Rabbit. It was read to me so many times that by the time I was three years old, I could repeat it word for word. When I had my own child, the first book I purchased was Peter Rabbit. Beatrix Potter was, and is, one of our world's greatest treasures.
She was such a talented writer and artist. A great gift from the Lord! I would love to finish the stories I started, and make a wonderful human insights to future generations with the children's stories I've started years ago, like she has done for years. Thanks for sharing the information! May the Lord Bless All!
It always cracks me up to see what the Brits consider a "cottage". Here in the US, I would expect a 2-rooms downstairs and a bedroom and bath upstairs under eaves. Brits call a cottage what we would call a mansion.
How Wonderful. I had, and bought for my daughter. Mine were lost discarded in moving homes. My grand daughter has those of her mother, kept safely by my daughter, for the next generation. Would that we had known the importance of preserving and adding to what was owned in the 1800's by my grandparents. I broke that thread by studies in Paris. Plus future in southern France. At 85years, I am sorry Literature took me away from my English roots. Beatrice Intransigent parents, permitted her legacy to the Glorious Lake District. In an Era when so much of the UK is owned by Foreigners. Not open to the Public!
the Victorians were so like that. think about the " gothic" genre- that started with Victorians and thier penchant for " taxidermy" and science... etc. ( as well as wearing black) Very unconcerned with dissecting animals and surgically studying them... Insect collections... mummies... fossils ... and all that jazz.

Thank you for sharing this video. The story of Beatrix Potter is a treasure to those who know and love her work.
Thank you for this documentary!
I've been there and loved every minute of my visit!❤ The Lake District is absolutely lovely!
I love the books and characters of Beatrix Potter
A well done documentary bringing and preserving history. Thank you!
Beatrix Potter and Laura Ingalls are my literary heros. Not so much for the books they wrote, I love them dearly, but for the amazing women they were.
She is one of my favorite illustraters

I had the whole collection. Don't remember what happened to it . Moving around so much.
Thank you so much where in England are you?
Prince Louis has a the Beatrix Potter theme in his nursery and his mom is related to Beatrix thanks to Ms Potter's family being wealthy 🤑
I loved her books as a child as well. But after hearing about the capture & dissection of animals, I’m totally turned off. Thanks
Why do British people ignore the evidence that beatrix potter was completely plaguerised
Is that question for your own gratification
What are you talking about??
By whom?

I would have watched this but turned it off after a few seconds of that horribly commercial intro...a pity because the subject is interesting
Just scroll through with the button in the video until you can see the beginning of the B Potter part.
How is she related to Harry Potter?
Not at all
