    Jasper,
    To fix the broken power wire, You need to get some Heat Shrink Tubing WITH Adhesive. The adhesive seals the wire up making it water proof. Get a smaller size for the individual conductors and a large size that will fit over the entire outer cable. I would solder the wires together, but you could use Crimp Butt connectors as well.
    As for the solar problem. I think you are connecting all your panels in series, (positive to negative from one panel to another). If that is the case, I think the output voltage of each panel is around 40 volts, so connecting in series would be 40v X 5 panels = 200 Volts. The Bluetti only takes 150v max. So you should be able to connect 3 in series, maybe.
    The wattage of the panels is unknown to me. You could connect 2 panels IN Parallel (Negative to Negative and Positive to Positive) and the voltage will stay at 40v BUT the amperage will be double the single panel output.
    I think the AC300 supports a 12amp input.

      Thats some really good tips, thank you! They are like 47 watts each. 3 seems to work in series. im going to see if i can connect two series. :)

    • @thedraac1818
      @thedraac1818 5 місяців тому +1

      @@GhostTownVlogs Jasper, Those panels seem pretty large to be only 47 watts each. If they are JA Solar like the cardboard said, I count 22 cells tall by 6 rows for 132 total cells. JA Solar seems to have those panels set up as two separate but connected panels in one unit. So, 132 cells divided by 2 is 66 cells each. 66 cells times 0.5v per cell is 33 volts. Those panels should have a minimum of 33 volts. But at the size they seem to be I would "think" they are maybe 400 - 500 watt panels.
      This is just what I'm thinking. Are there info labels on the panels themselves? Just wondering what they really are.
      BTW, I think it's great what your trying to do in the old "Ghost Town".

    • @thedraac1818
      @thedraac1818 5 місяців тому +2

      @@GhostTownVlogs Jasper, I was watching the video again, and at 40:02 into the video you show the Bluetti screen. It shows charging at about 66 volts and 678 watts. Like I mentioned in my other comment about each panel probably being 33 volts, well that shows it. 2 panels in series would be 66 volts. And the 678 watts for the two panels would be 339 watts each.
      Depending on the real maximum output voltage of each panel, you might be able to do 4 panels in series, 33v times 4 is 132 volts, which is below the Bluetti's 150 volt max.

    About your solar... the thing is, the bluetti has a maximum input. The max input is not the same as the output. In the datasheet of the AC300, what you have, the max input is 1200W ( on each Input port !) , 12 - 150V DC and max 30A ( on each input port).
    You already had on your App 66V and 680W with 2 Panels. That is why you had a overload warning with 4 Pannels, when you pair it in series. The only way to change that is to play around what is the best combination between series and paraell conection of the panels. I don´t know the specs of your pannels so I can not give you here a info what to do.
    FYI here. the difference between series and pararell is series means the Watt stayes the same as one Pannel and Voltage adds up. Paraell means Voltage stays the same as one pannel and the Watt adds up.
    You would need a Y-connector on the pannels to make a combination of 2 +2 pannels for example. means 2 pannels in series and another 2 pannels in series combined.

    Looks awesome but an idea for you in future is to set up the solar array over the top of the garden, light will still get down to ground level, but the panels will give shade to the plants in the heat less watering needed and you have used space twice

    Bluetti needs a certain voltage limit and beware with max amperage you may need to make 2 panels in series to increase the voltage then the others 2 also in series then put those two sets in parallel and beware with max watts in bluetti, I buy bluetti panels because that issue the panels to adapt was more expensive because that amperage limit and high voltage

    You will need to check the current and voltage ratings of both the panels and the Bluetti. It is not the power capabilities of the Bluetti you go by. What matters is the Voc (voltage open circuit) and Isc (current open circuit) of the panels and the input maximums of the Bluetti. A quick check online says that Bluetti you have can manage Voc input of 12 - 150v, so the series Voc of the panels cannot be more than that 150v. And the maximum Isc of the panels cannot be more than 12a, and those panels you are using are usually 17A to 18A Isc. Check the sticker on the back of them or online search for their specs. You can get optimizers, but they are usually voltage boost buck converters and would not work with your setup.

    A simple encapsulating kit will be water proof It is where you splice the wire by sodering and heat shrink over the actual splice and than place epoxy that is a two part mixture, and you pour that in a sleeve of plastic. That will be very water proof. It is what is used for installing a submersible pump in a well.

    I noted your modules are wired in series to create a panel of two. When add more modules to the panel the voltage increase each time. The energy storage device maybe unable to accept a voltage input higher than ?. Hence display fault. Install another string or circuit create to parallel voltage sources. Easy purchase a splitter and split the string at the panel end. Or run separate string back to the energy storage device and if no secondary input this string split the input there to combine both strings. Also only install 6mm cable the DC voltage losses are less when long runs of cable be requirement. And conduit your cable will prevent future mishaps. Maybe bury the pipe once permanent?
