I’ve actually wondered if the opposite would occur: prices going down rather than up. Roughly 72% of home buyers bought their home at a 4% or lower interest rate. I’d imagine they were waiting out for interest rates to drop, thus supply might actually outpace demand
Interesting point! I don’t think it will get to the point that all 72% decide to sell plus the ones who are selling usually buy some other property - going bigger or smaller, that enlarges the buyer pool proportionally. So, it might be a more balanced market at some point, and that would be ideal, but we are nowhere close yet.
