Received my copy of the album on Friday along with the t-shirt just pure class Mr Ashcroft you are a music God and you should get the appreciation you should rightly receive/received over the years. The music industry doesn't know what proper music is if it kicked them up the arse, just gutted that I wasn't able to get any tickets for the album tour but there is hope that I can get to see you one day. I've already had one of my life long ambitions to see The Verve and I did one rain soaked nite at V-festival Western Park and my second is to see Richard Ashcroft in concert.

The Irish Times hack was quite scathing in his review of this album. It makes you wonder if these ‘critics’ , who have never done anything worthwhile in their little lives, have actually the first clue about music..🧐
This is one of his better recent songs - it has atmosphere but alas the sad truth is his songs need McCabe guitar to kind of bring them to life not thus dull instrumentation - guitarists like that are once in a lifetime you do whatever it takes to keep relationship with them - Ashcroft can’t seem to totally face the idea of needing this other musician to truly make his sound great - a McCabe soundscape on this and you have a truly great song without it you have a quite good song x
You know, I think that pretty much nails that vague feeling of "something's missing" that I've been having listening to this new album. Although imho, and for my taste, it might also work with some other interesting and - first and foremost - less conventional instrumentation. As it is, it may be poetic and soulful and his voice is great and all, but as far as I'm concerned, it lacks in power, drive and surprise.
i loved ashcroft and the verve. but to be honest iv not rated his music since alone with everbody. this song sounds good.. but its got a tired recycled feel to it. just my opinion
