Looking Back at Old Irby and Thurstaston

The DVD illustrates the many changes that have taken
place in and around Irby and Thurstaston over the past
100 years. This includes a rare photograph taken during
the First World War at Thurstaston of Thomas Ismays
former home of Dawpool, being used as a military hospital
for officers. Today all that survives from the mansion is
the gatehouse that now stands next to the roundabout.
