    I love my bird's break knife and use it a lot. Pineapple is where it really shines! However, I make sure my pineapple is good and ripe, which makes removing the eyes a simple flicking motion rather than having to dig around.

      Kitchen shears work wonders on shrimp. Use the tip of the scissors and insert that into the cavity that has the poop shoot. Works like a charm every time.

    I've had the MAC bird's beak for some years now and love it for hulling strawberries and stemmint tomatoes. Do you have any hints for sharpening? I just sharpened my Felco blade on plant shears with a German cigar-shaped carborundum. It worked, but clumsily.

    We got the ATC price hike effect... It's 40.bucks now.. dang it

    • @barcham
      @barcham 2 роки тому +2

      That is a fallacy. The reason the price goes up is that the primary seller runs out of stock and the profiteers step in to sell you the same thing at a much higher price. Wait a few days until they are able to restock, and you will get it at the regular price.

    • @barcham

      @@sandrah7512 NOTHING ever sells for MSRP. MSRP is just something stores use to show shoppers what a great deal they are getting when they buy something 'on sale'.

    • @barcham
      @barcham 2 роки тому

      @@sandrah7512 I am sorry that you do not understand the concept of MSRP. I assume you have never worked in retail, or you would know that MSRP prices are often double what the actual selling price is. No store ever sells anything at MSRP, that price is only used so that stores can list it on their signs above their own selling price so that you will think you are getting a great deal because their price is so much lower.
      For example, if you are shopping for a new television, the MSRP will usually be close to double the actual selling price at ANY store you will purchase it at. This applies to just about any retail product you will purchase. In any case, you can believe whatever you want to believe. It makes no difference to me. I will tell you that retail stores absolutely love people like you because you likely believe you are getting a great deal if they knock off 10% from MSRP.

    • @barcham
      @barcham 2 роки тому

      @@sandrah7512 'Regular' price on advertising in a store or online is only meaningful if you know from experience that is the actual regular selling price. If you have never seen it selling for that price over a period of months, it is meaningless.
      For example, I just purchased a 65" flat screen TV on Amazon at $400 off the regular price. I know this is a valid discount as the unit has been selling at the regular price for over a year. On occasion, it goes on sale, and I waited until it did before purchasing.
      If someone is selling 'at cost', ask to see their invoice. Otherwise, it is just another marketing tactic. Stores only sell at cost when a product is approaching or has passed the BB date, and they cannot return it to the supplier for credit.
      MSRP is about 200% profit, if not more, if something actually sold at that price point. 'Regular' price is likely close to 100% profit. I will leave it to you to figure out sale price profit margins yourself.
      As far as a store making enough profit to stay in business, that is not my problem. If they cannot run their business well enough to turn a decent profit, perhaps they should not be running a business. My only concern is my own personal finances, which requires my getting the best deal on what I buy from any source.

      Can’t make a statement without making it political can you! First of all it’s not POTUS fault he does not control the price of oil. If you want to point fingers look toward OPEC they set the price per barrel plus the market. The POTUS CANNOT set the price of oil not the cost of refining and transportation. Next look at Russia and the war in UKRAINE. That has disrupted the markets and the food change. Then last but not least look at trumps poor response to the Covid pandemic. It closed supply chains world wide. And the biggest producer of goods for the US is China and they have kept there manufacturers closed for long periods of time. That slowed production and with increase demand that is causing prices to rise because there is not enough supply. Basic economics 101. There is not a lot the POTUS can do not even your boy trump if he was President. So educate yourself before you make statements about the economy being President Biden’s fault.
