    "We must each explore the depths of our own [spiritual] traditions and only through exploring our own heritage, culture, our own source can we find that door to higher shared collective humanity. It is not about going beyond our own individual traditions, but about going through them."
    Beautifully put my brother. We were each born into these unique perspectives that have divided humanity for millennia, but the path of unity leads back to the heart of all mankind, through which we find the Divine reflected within one another.

    As Pannikar said, you cannot meet the other in integrity until you have gone deep within yourself, your own values, commitments and visions. or as Yossi Klein Halevi recently said, Universalism that is not grounded in Particularism is either sentimental or abstract

    I love this channel! This is the second time I’ve had a pretty obscure thought and plunged it into UA-cam only to find my way here. This morning it was, has somebody compared Jung’s archons to the sefirot. They seem to be the same thing. Great video!

      Thank you so much Yahwings, we love you. Glad we’ve been able to help unobscure some things.
      If you want more great material comparing the Sefirot with Jung’s Archons/Architypes, check out these two fantastic essays from Dr. Drob:
      The Lurianic Kabbalah: An Archetypal Interpretation www.newkabbalah.com/Jung3.html
      Table 1: The Lurianic System and its Archetypal Interpretation www.newkabbalah.com/Jung4.html
      We we’re going to made a few more videos addressing that question and some other fascinating points at the interplay between Kabbalah and Jung, but alas we haven’t… yet.
      Much love, thank you for the epic feedback.

    Just discovered you, thanks for the connection. As an observation, may l say that the median through which this is mostly conveyed to me, as a woman is through the masculine.
    I long for the day women's voices are balanced with thoes of the masculine. I am aware that women are stating to speak but would like to hear from them more. None the less I do appreciate your insights and deep learning. Thank you so much.

    Thank you so much I'm transitioning from being a fan to becoming a groupie! Jung for his part did t'shuvah in 1948 for previous unkind and ungenerous comments about Jews, notably after the horse had bolted from the stable. The fact that he drew on this Kabbalistic symbolism without becoming a philo-semite does raise questions, although you can't throw the baby out with the bath water! Kol haKavod.

    I am not sure this is appropriate to say here. Forgive me if it isn't... but I see sparks of light -sometimes large, sometimes small. They vary in color but most of the time they are blue-white. Quite lovely. (like the star Vega) . Sometimes copper red. I've always believed they were spirits. Sometimes in a darkened room. . or when I am praying/meditating, even reading and trying to work out ideas I can't quite grasp. I will see them, also, in my little forest. When my husband was days away from dying I saw a spark enter his chest and leave it several times. I tried not to react but It broke my heart. I am going to have to listen to your videos from beginning to the end .. there is always more to learn. You are right about accepting our own heritage. I was born a Roman Catholic Italian. I realized that when my spiritual path became very, very serious, I had to deal with my Christianity even though, I didn't want to do so. I had to accept my roots in Roman Catholicism, even though, ultimately, I did not reenter the church. All the metaphors/images/myths/stories inside my soul were Catholic Christian. Still are - when I write, I am using Catholic Christian materials and images. My religious beliefs are rather a flexible Gnosticism.

      @@SeekersofUnity yes, even kicking and screaming and running the other way as fast as I can. At first, the Christian experiences scared me, even terrified me. I had some very unpleasant experiences in my childhood and youth in Catholic school.. .but ultimately, I decided to go with the trends and see where it lead me, I pretty much told myself that the eastern religions would be waiting for me if I found out it was all a bit of stray unconscious matter- It was a very difficult path. I still don't have all my questions answered. I have a working 'theory' of my personal spiritual path - that is why I can't belong to a solidified religion. I want answers, not other men's theories. I let God be God and know I've probably only touched the very edge of the hem of his garment and only for moments.

    Think there were several aspects of Kabbalah that were not mentioned in the writings of Jung. His main interest was western alchemy and he had a fascination with symbolism in general which included aspects of Kabbalah.

    Thanks for this! I'm not sure I understand though.. does Jung literally use the terminology "sefirot", "adam kadmon" etc? It would really help if there were some quotes.. Also, if the Pleroma is the same idea as the Ein Sof etc, why say he didn't address those ideas? (I read Jung's Sermons of the Dead and i think its super analogous to kabbalah)

    • @SeekersofUnity
      @SeekersofUnity  3 роки тому +2

      You're so welcome. Yes, he does. have a search for these terms and you'll see the quotes: archive.org/details/collectedworksof14cgju That's a good question, and it's hard to know for sure, but either he wasn't familiar with the Kabbalistic concept, but in a case like this that seems unlikely. So the more likely explanation is that he probably felt that a parallel concept from a different tradition was a better symbol for what he was attempting to express.

      This channel is dedicated to the interdisciplinary exploration of global mysticism. Kabbalah is one of the mystical traditions within our scope, and perhaps one of the traditions closest to us. But we aim to discuss all mystical traditions and all aspects of mysticism as the project progresses.

    Yes, legend has it the pronunciation of that book's title was once known but it has been lost to the sands of time. I spent decades seeking a hermit mystic, said to be the last living man in the esoteric tradition of pronouncing that book's title, but sadly he reposed the day before I found him 😉

    That's a stretch of a definition of Adam Kadmon... Does he mention it by name?

    • @SeekersofUnity
      @SeekersofUnity  3 роки тому +1

      Yes he does. The definition i provided was a psychological one, in line with how Jung understood it, different than the more common metaphysical, theogonic description which you're probably used to.

    • @ChasingDepth
      @ChasingDepth 3 роки тому +1

      Not letting this go yet... Does Jung explicitly mention א"ק? And on what grounds does the א"ק as precursor to אבי"ע equate to the raging, tumultuous, conflicting spirits in man? Still a stretch to me unless he says it explicitly.

    • @SeekersofUnity
      @SeekersofUnity  3 роки тому

      Haha, no worries. Yes, Jung talk about Adam Kadmon directly. Have a search for “Adam Kadmon” here:
      archive.org/details/collectedworksof14cgju to see how he talks about it.
      I believe equation is legitimate if we’re talking about the psychological interpretation of these terms. I understand that Seder Hishtalshelut can be read and interpreted in many ways. The point here simply being that Adam Kadmon contains within it all the conflicting polarities latter to unfold into the Sefirot of ABiYA. And the anthropomorphic language of “Adam” Kadmon, readily lends itself to be read in human, psychological terms.
