I got my set about a month ago. They're a nice addition to my 120 set of Crayolas, and the set of metallics (which are in the 120 set). They do better by layering rather than trying to smush them together to blend them. Use them like oil pencils even though they are wax. Very good budget sets for beginners or folks like me who are on fixed income.
Thanks for sharing and your review! I don't have this set, or any Crayola set. I would have thought that they would be hard. Nice to know they are soft. Your page is lovely and what a cute mouse! 🤗
Hi Rachel, this is very interesting for me because like you, I don't tend to focus on colouring books with faces, so I haven't bothered buying skin tone pencil sets. I have all the Black Widow sets except the skin tone packs, because I couldn't see the point in having so many shades. Hey, skin is either pink or brown, right? Obviously not! I will keep an eye out for this Crayola set. Thanks🙂
I had this set for a while. I wish one of the better brands would dupe it.. the colors are lovely, not just for skin but animals and nature. You can do beautiful work with Crayola, it just takes time, and lots of layers. They are generally smooth and vibrant. Also there are 120 colors available (and I don't believe that counts these) which is a lot for such a budget brand. I've only ever seen the 100 in stores, but the 120 is on Amazon. They will work better once sharpened as they do have a bit of a coating on the tips. You can practically layer them forever since they put down so little product at one time. I find if I work from light to dark and back again, in soft scumbled layers, I get the best results. They do very well on cheap paper too since they need so little tooth. I just gave them away because my hands couldn't take it, especially for larger works.
I enjoy layering so I think they will suit me and I have tough old hands lol. I wonder if the black Widow skin tone sets would suit you better or maybe they are still a bit hard?
@@RachelHendersonColouring Still really hard, especially the light shades. I'm not a fan of the Black Widows. I figured out how to use them without disaster (extremely light layers followed by the derwent blender) but I really regret purchasing them. Between all the pencils and the case I could have bought the entire set of polys for just a bit more... and should have. I used them this week in my matchstick autumn book and it was.. ok. I did the next page with my newest Deli's and they are gorgeous... and at a mere fraction of the price. They are also a harder oil pencil but they lay down properly and the colors meld together when blended, very transparent so they are glowy and rich. My daughter was so impressed she took a photo to show her art friends. For skin I generally go to Prisma, but I did pick up a six pencil skin set of Colorsoft I haven't had a chance to use yet. I don't do much skin.
@@RachelHendersonColouring I think it's the Deli pencils. I'm most of the way through the next page with them (the one where mouse is splashing in the rain with his slicker and a leaf for an umbrella) and they are just as glowy and vibrant. Especially against the black background. Something about the transparency and the finish from the oil.. they aren't shiny but it has a rich vibrant look, almost like they are varnished. I really wish there were more of them.. as far as I can tell the one 72 set is all that exists at least here in the US market. Very glad I bought them.
Thank you very much for watching.

I think they are very good value for money, I was pleasantly surprised
This turned out great. I really like it a lot. It has that old sepia photography feel.
Thank you
Beautiful, I just love the colors! Crayola are some of my favorite pencils!

I have these and adore them. Use them all the time and had to get a backup set.
I have been using mine a lot!
I love my crayolas and I have prisma scholars too 🌲🤓

@@waymire01 they are not a brand i have heard of, I will have to take a look (as obviously I need more pencils lol)
Oh.. and they just put out a pastel set with four new colors and a selection of existing ones. It's called Colors of Kindness if I recall correctly.
Interesting, thank you
I'll be looking for these pastels!
Hi Rachel very pretty and soft colours.😊
Thank you! 😊
