In 1995 the Walt Disney Company purchased a hotel adjacent to the Disneyland Hotel that they named the Disneyland Pacific Hotel. Since becoming apart of the Disneyland Resort this building has had a bit of an identity crisis. Changing themes and names a few times. In 2001, to compliment the opening of Disney's California Adventure Park and its affiliate Paradise Pier section the hotel was renamed the Paradise Pier Hotel.
Unfortunately, when Disney's California Adventure opened it was widely panned by Disney fans and critics. Due to this, Disneyland resort refurbished and rethemed the majority of the park and what was once called Paradise Pier turned into Pixar Pier. To complement Pixar Pier, the once Paradise Pier Hotel has now been renamed The Pixar Place Hotel.
Sporting an art deco style that pays homage to Pixar's history and animation process, The Pixar Place Hotel seeks to immerse guests in the stories of Pixar as well as its creative process. This is Disney's first Pixar themed hotel and it offers up meetable characters like Joe Gardner from Soul and Bing Bong from Inside Out that can only be found here.
We've been looking forward to staying at this newly refurbished and rethemed Disneyland Resort when it was first announce but our time here didn't go as planned. We provide a full tour of the facility including the Fitness Center/Gym, our room overlooking Pixar Pier, our view of World of Color, the pool, Sketch Pad Café, gift shop, décor and grounds. A lot of similarities in the art work between this resort and the Art of Animation. We always stay at AOA and seeing some of this art brings me back. We'll be back to AOA Christmas season 2025. Can't wait!

I wonder if these are the same beds! We love the Disneyland Hotel and Pop Century beds. Best sleeps of our lives 😆. Definitely some great comfort food here. Love the layout too.

I'm so excited that you guys are at DL and hope that you are making lots of videos. Looks like such a cool (and really needed) refurbishment. The nails are amazing ❤ Really sorry that you didn't get to stay, looked like such a fun room (what a view!). The elevators were terrible before at this hotel. At busy times, you could wait over 5 mins for an elevator and a line would form. Leave it to Disney to figure out an innovative solution. Thanks for another great video... we will definitely give this hotel another try. ❤
We have 3 more Disneyland videos coming 🙂. Sam's nail parlor does an amazing job and good to know the elevators here have gotten an upgrade. That sounds rough. Too bad you weren't able to stay the whole time. We have reservations in September there, pretty excited to experience the transformation.
Hope you have the best time! It wasn't meant to be this trip but we're excited to go back 🙂. We never experienced Paradise Pier but from what we can tell it looks to be a huge upgrade.

Fun is the perfect way to describe the asthetic here. While we were down about not being able to stay here we're so happy we get to go back 🙂. Coffee ice cubes are the future! Thanks Chris, we planned our looks for our stay here but unfortunately it wasn't meant to be. We'll be prepared next time though.
Wow. First off you did (as usual lol) a great review of everything!! This is the best review video I have seen on the hotel. Kudos to you! Pixar Pier is very well themed. I do love everything they have done. I agree w/ you the little coffee bar needs to stay open later. Back in the old iteration the area was a bar/bakery/coffee and they served food till 11 PM!! They really expanded the area where you enter from parking, the pool area looks super nice (just such a small pool/hot tub)... ok I could keep going on.
This hotel holds so many memories for me. Funny...our first stay Dec 2002 (DD was 6/Son was barely 1) we had a DCA view and we paid.... wait for it $96 per night! lol. That is probably the tax per night now lol.
Ok back to you.... You both showed such grace and patience w/ all the moves and issues. I am so happy Disney made it good in the end. I need that coffee... .coffee ice cubes!!! that is a game changer. Now I want to go (checked prices and my oh my lol....)

It really is crazy not to have a quick service option open at night. $96 seems like a dream!!! We were only able to book this because we split a room with our friends. I can’t believe we get to go back!!!! I hope to utilize the rooftop amenities next time. The coffee ice cubes & glitter were top notch 😊❤️
