@@CharlieDIYte I would be really interested if you know of any blinds and curtain 'closers' that can be used with smart speaker like Amazon's Echo/Alexa, a video would be great! Thanks! If you don't have a recess it's a little tricky as the side channels would be more noticeable, and you'd have to screw through the front rather than inside. Better than a similar product we had installed - and I'd have done a better job than installer did but was busy with day job and left the blinds to wife to sort out.
Doing a total blackout system with attic bay windows is pain. I've resorted to perfectfit blackouts to stop the majority of it on the three panes, then a roman blind (fits tighter to the edges of the walls) in front of that to stop most of the residual light.
Have you ever tried using the dust catchers used when installing spotlights when drilling anything into celling? That part where you balance the hoover and drill in 2 hands...
Hi Charlie, Excellent video, could you please advise what make this is and where I can get it from, and whether this is a "made to fit"? . I am planning to fit one in my bedroom and, as you know, there are hundreds on-line to choose from. Many thanks
Personally prefer some light coming in but good to know these are available, not seen them before. I've yet to come across a window where it's not a concrete lintel you need to drill into. Also, you're not really supposed to be drilling into them yet all the trades do. I used to have the same Stanley Fatmax large toolbox. Well made piece of kit but I found it was just too massive to lug about for my needs.
This is a great video Charlie, very informative and I really want to fit some to my son's bedroom.....he is 2 ½ and these would be great. Do you have a link of where they can be purchased?
Thanks 👍 You can get in touch with us at admin@moghulinteriors.com, but you'll need to send us some measurements for each window (the width at the top where the mechanism goes and the drop at both sides) so we can get you a quote.
To be honest Justin, I was sent some Erbauer power tools to try out by B&Q a while ago. They're a decent set of tools and I've been using them in tandem with my Ryobi stuff. For me, it's not an issue having two different chargers kicking about but if you're a site worker, clearly you need to stick to one brand to keep things manageable.
@@CharlieDIYte indeed. Us DIY ers just concerned with it working... Some drain so quickly and are not powerful enough for lots of driving screws when putting in a new floor
Have you tried this with Plantation Shutters? Or a sliding door with vertical blinds? Sunrise is at 5:33 and the bedroom is awake with light. Would like a little more good sleep time. Thanks.
Hi there. You can't buy these direct on the open market as they're trade only but if you get on touch with us through the link in the Description, we can work up a quote for you. And yes, we can supply with Somfy motors. I've installed a few of these!
Excellent video Charlie! Love your channel. QQ4U though. For those of us (ie me) who have already got a blackout thermal blind to keep the heat of the sun out of our children's bedroom and yet didn't reckon on the heat/light bleed coming through the sides, is there an ingenious diy hack we could do with some c-section channel and some brush tape? I can't for the life of me find channel broad enough so wondered if I'm barking up the wrong tree here to keep the heat out. Cheers.
You could click on the link in the Description and ask the company if they could supply you with a length of the c section - it comes in 40mm and 70mm profiles, complete with the in built brushes. You'd still get light leakage in the top but again, they manufacture aluminium head boxes, with bottom trays. You put the roller in the box and butt the side channels up to the box. The only issue you'll have though is that the roller bottom bar won't be heavy enough to drop under its own weight thought the brushed aside channels, as the bottom bars that come on the blinds are much heavier. So unless you could open the bottom bar and slide in extra weights, you might have a problem.
So I contacted them and they responded very quickly to my email. Suffice it to say the biggest flaw in the idea for me is that my thermal blackout blind is cellular, and the one from the company and indeed your video is flat fabric. This means the side channels they offer are only 22mm wide and certainly not wide enough to accommodate a cellular blind that has a bottom bar of 28mm wide. Thanks for the help anyway Charlie. The guys at EBS were very helpful. I think the idea is still good, so I'll be finding some white aluminium c section at 40mm-ish wide and some brush tape after all. Your video should help me with the installation too. ;)
@@alanmacgillivray8137 I never did. I looked everywhere online I could find but the only places I could find the C or U channel I wanted only sold in bulk. Next steps for me was/is to go down the industrial workshops in my home town and ask them face to face. This job sifted down my Dadlist though.
Hi Steve. Yes, there's a link in the Description below the video where you can get in touch with us. There are other systems on the market but you've just got to make sure they're decent quality. The system in this video is part chain part spring so when you push it down the final section it tensions the blind to keep it taught.
Wow! You do excellent work. My so called "blackout shades" from lowes in the US were not installed by a professional like you. All I see is light, the whole room is lighted when closed. No channel or brushes, or caulking. I'm very dissatisfied!
I'm afraid not. You could however email them and see if they'd be prepared to ship to you. You'd struggle a bit with warranty cover though, although I've never had one of these systems fail on me.
If you measure the width in three places - top, middle and bottom and take the narrowest measurement. Same with the drop but if you got the drop too long you could at least cut the side channels down a bit. When you submit the order tell them you've given them recess measurements.
Hi Charlie, I watched video yesterday and have been looking since to buy several cassette blinds, can you please give a little more direction as to where I can source some from. Keep up the great videos mate and stay safe.
@@jasontaylor2929 Jason, a couple of points about this system. Firstly, we don't generally supply the spring loaded systems because there's less to go wrong with the chain version. Our supplier's son once cut his head open on the bottom bar of the spring loaded system because they tend to zoom up very quickly when released (unless they're fitted with the more expensive slow rise mechanism). Also, just from watching the video, the blackout fabric looks very thin and the blind doesn't seem to be going up and down very straight. Those are just my views, without having any first hand experience of these guys, or their blinds.
Hey Charlie just came across your channel and this is a great video, the link in the description for the blinds seems to be dead now - do you know if there is an alternative? Thanks

Very nice job! I’d love these but I don’t like the black brushes, as the look quite clinical. I can understand ‘white’ getting dirty but a light grey would make less of a statement.
This is crazy, I can't find these blinds in the UK. Casstyle Blinds Ltd is listed as a dormant company in the Companies House... Charlie, where are you getting yours from?
Great video Charlie, do you have any solutions for tilt and turn windows. We only have 26mm side clearance in our dormer windows and haven't seen a low profile solution that would still allow the windows to open inwards. Because its a dormer in a sloping roof we can't install on the outside of the reveal.
Thanks. Been researching motorised blinds for the bedroom and your videos came up. Excellent manner and style, very watchable.

Thanks.
Hello, I just found your video and it’s exactly what I was looking for. Are these available to purchase in the US? Or do you ship to the US?
This is really cool and it's something that I want. Now, add a Somfy smart blind to the build and I will give you all of my money.
Hi there. You can't buy these direct on the open market as they're trade only but if you get on touch with us through the link in the Description, we can work up a quote for you. And yes, we can supply with Somfy motors. I've installed a few of these!
@@CharlieDIYte aaah, I see. Is Moghul interiors your company then? I have already sent a message.
Can’t find a blind like you fitted can you give me more details please
It's Hunter Douglas blind
@@CharlieDIYte Cheers Charlie. I will give it a try.
Your video should help me with the installation too. ;)
Did you manage to get aluminium c section to create your own siderails? If so any advice for someone in the same situation.
@@alanmacgillivray8137 I never did. I looked everywhere online I could find but the only places I could find the C or U channel I wanted only sold in bulk. Next steps for me was/is to go down the industrial workshops in my home town and ask them face to face. This job sifted down my Dadlist though.
Exactly what I need. Thank you
You're welcome 👍
Hi Charlie great video...can you tell me where you can purchase the blind system? Thanks
Hi Steve. Yes, there's a link in the Description below the video where you can get in touch with us. There are other systems on the market but you've just got to make sure they're decent quality. The system in this video is part chain part spring so when you push it down the final section it tensions the blind to keep it taught.
I'm interested in getting a good and big tool bag, any recommendations?
Great vid thanks . Any link to the blind product please?
Hi Charlie what brand of blinds did you install?
It's our supplier's own brand system. They're made up to measure to fit the exact window recess dimensions.
Wow! You do excellent work. My so called "blackout shades" from lowes in the US were not installed by a professional like you. All I see is light, the whole room is lighted when closed. No channel or brushes, or caulking. I'm very dissatisfied!
Thanks. The side channels are not typical but something you can specify if total blackout is required.
All those tools❤
Do you know any manufacturers in u.s? I have searched around and cannot find much, the company you referred us to maybe only sells in the UK. Thanks
I'm afraid not. You could however email them and see if they'd be prepared to ship to you. You'd struggle a bit with warranty cover though, although I've never had one of these systems fail on me.
Great video, but do you have a new link to purchase them as the one in the description is dead?
I've spoken to the supplier. They've had a problem with the website which they're working on. Keep checking, it will come back online. 👍
It's a perfect solution for our early bird son, can we get this blind for big window 300 cm wide by 120 height ?
Yes you should be able to. There's a link to the company in the Description. Get in touch and see what they say 👍🏻
This is exactly what I need for our new condo master bedroom. Can anyone link to similar blinds available in the US?
What is the best way to measure which size il need, there is not much info on the website. Maybe a video on measuring would be great! Thank you!
If you measure the width in three places - top, middle and bottom and take the narrowest measurement. Same with the drop but if you got the drop too long you could at least cut the side channels down a bit. When you submit the order tell them you've given them recess measurements.
@@CharlieDIYte Thank you very much!😄
I would like to buy these blinds but the website no longer works. Do you know where I can buy them now?
Thanks for pointing this out. I'll try and find out why the website link no longer works.
Thanks Charlie, great video 👍👍
Thanks Noel 👍
Hi Charlie, I watched video yesterday and have been looking since to buy several cassette blinds, can you please give a little more direction as to where I can source some from. Keep up the great videos mate and stay safe.

Chris Wright. Many thanks mate for the direction. I will measure up and order tomorrow.
@@jasontaylor2929 Unless you've ordered already, Jason I'm just trying to find out a little more about this system for you.
Never realised caulking tools actually work that good! have you got a link?
Thanks. Well there's this link to my caulking video ua-cam.com/video/-ETYMFbtaTk/v-deo.html
@Charlie DIYte the website you put in the description just goes to some phishing site. Maybe the site has changed or the company has closed down?
Hey Charlie just came across your channel and this is a great video, the link in the description for the blinds seems to be dead now - do you know if there is an alternative? Thanks
Hi Robert, good to hear from you. I'm onto it! Not sure what's happened here but I'm investigating and well get back to you when I hear back from the company. 👍
Hi Robert. Just heard back from my contact at the company. The website has been under maintenance. Should be back up and running in a day or two. When you try again, might be worth clearing your browser history/ deleting the cache so it takes you to the rebooted site. Cheers 👍
I think is a fantastic system Charlie enjoyed the video,
Me encanta ese sistema me gustan tus vídeos saludos desde Colombia 🇨🇴
Quite expensive for a blackout blind but it’s the best one I have seen so you get what you pay for. Is the 20% discount you offer time limited? I would like to buy one and support the channel but won’t be needing one straight away as we are moving house in the next few months and I would like to purchase one for our bedroom when we move.
Not time limited my friend. Just get in touch when you're ready for it.
Hello charlie....im a new subscriber....im hoping you might be able to tell me as i havent a clue about this type of product ....when you say it keeps out all light does that include when there is a storm and severe lightning is going at night time ? Will the room not light up with every flash of lightning as im never able to sleep at night when storms are about...
Hopefully you will see this and respond ...please and thanks 👍
Hi Paul, thanks for the sub. Yes, it's total blackout so will deal with the lightening too.
Do you have a link to the blinds?
If you click on the link in the Description below the video, and get in touch with us we can give you some prices. I'm afraid it's not like ordering online because we're not an e-commerce company and tend to work through home visits.
@@CharlieDIYte which link? There's PayPal and amazon tool list only...?
How on earth can I get these kits in the US? Absolutely amazing
Good question, Bruce. Are you sure there's nothing similar?
Hi Charlie,
Another great video as usual.
Can these blinds be fitted where the reveal isn't perpendicular to the wall?
Thanks
Jeff
Thanks Jeff. Yes, you'd just need some sort of wedge shaped filler piece behind the side channel to keep it square.
Does wind blow blind from side cassette of you leave window open? Is there anything you can do?
Very nice job!
I’d love these but I don’t like the black brushes, as the look quite clinical. I can understand ‘white’ getting dirty but a light grey would make less of a statement.
I'm pretty sure they also do a grey, but I might be wrong. Worth asking if you're tempted. There's a link to the company in the Description.
Excellent video made it look easy thank you
Thanks Kevin 👍
Charlie. Can these be used for Velux windows? Or just vertical?
Velux do their own system which you'd be better off getting ua-cam.com/video/eNxib3hETYo/v-deo.html
What is the brand name of the one you installed?
Neat system....not seen these before...👍🏻
Very good video
Thanks 👍
This is crazy, I can't find these blinds in the UK. Casstyle Blinds Ltd is listed as a dormant company in the Companies House... Charlie, where are you getting yours from?
It's a trade only supplier, Dmitriy, so you'll have to go through us if you want these particular blinds. Link in the Description below the video.
Charlie DIYte I'm in the trade too...
Great video Charlie, do you have any solutions for tilt and turn windows. We only have 26mm side clearance in our dormer windows and haven't seen a low profile solution that would still allow the windows to open inwards. Because its a dormer in a sloping roof we can't install on the outside of the reveal.
Thanks, really helpful😀
Great Video im looking to move house very soon and was wanting somthing like this for the bedrooms. Do you do motorised versions?
Is there any clips available for roller blind ,not moving in wind?
I don't think so. You'll just have to raise the blind I'm afraid
