Onyx is growing up so fast. It seems like yesterday he was a little boy just learning to drive around with the grain cart and mom riding with him. To bad all kids can't grow up on a family farm. We'd see a much better America. 🇺🇸 🚜 🇺🇸 🚜
Loved this video. I must admit, it brought tears to my eyes when you picked your dad up after a long day in the fields. Working side by side with your dad has got to be one of the best privileges once can have. And with Onyx growing up and helping, it continues.
Zach, when there is time, I would love to see just some chatting time with your Dad, and what it means to him to have Onyx out there learning. I have to think as Grandpa it's a pretty proud thing to see.
I hate to say it (bein' a hetro male) but your dad retains much of his youthful "cuteness" with his ready smile and always seeming slightly bemused. Guess he's "been on the farm" a WHILE now, huh? Always enjoy your videos. Sorry 'bout the bent shank, try to farm where there ain't so many ROCKS!
I would be curious to hear what your dad has to say about how technology has changed farming since he started. Watching you get on your smartphone to log onto another tractor to help Onyx while the tractor you are in is driving itself and planting with such precision. It's just amazing to me! I work in the swine industry and I am impressed with how tech has come in and made our jobs a little easier. As always, enjoy your videos and seeing your family farm together!
Ya know if you don’t squeeze’em they won’t pee on your hand! ✋ I’ve been watching your channel for a few years now. I have seen Onyx grow into a 100% Farmhand! He just goes about his business and gets the job done. You’ve got a good boy there.
just a thing we went to on our farm is rather than diggers in the spring. use a VT tillage tool for field prep, they bring up much less rocks. keep ‘em under the dirt👍🏻
Again in this video and a prior one when changing the shovels on the field cultivator. They have some sort of wedge that holds them on so you don't have to take out 2 countersunk bolts that are rusty and your wrench slips and skinned body parts.... When did this innovation start? My formative years on the farm were 40yrs ago and we had older equipment then.
Frost and rocks lol we have a gravel pit we plow 8" deep and oldfellas picked em by hand rock piles everywhere before we got machinery for that but was always told would always have a job picking rocks before we plant and after we plant so you can cultivate potatoes turn around and pick rock piles after windrower and harvester picks them again in fall turn around pick again when it's just scratched to plant rotation crops it's frost shoving them up and keeps next generation working lol 😊
Farming in upstate ny was especially successful in grow in rocks yearly. We used a stone boat and walking along while the tractor moving at an idle throwing stones on the boat being dragged across the field.
I have to ask would your son ever start a youtube channel if so I would love to his point of view on the farm. If not that is fine I think most of us would agree that we would like to see more of your son on the channel doing stuff in the trackers stuff like that. But over all I have to say I really enjoy watching your videos man keep up the awesome work and this is coming from Australia New south wales
Awesome video Zach. I'd be careful answering those calls from Buckeye AZ. Heard that several of them are AI calls and the person on the other end isn't really as smart as they say they are 🤣🤣🤣 🚜🚜🚜
Zach with hydraulic downforce the turning the guage wheel trick doesn’t work anymore because it isnt active unless you’re moving is what our ams guy said.
Zach Becky you got quite a family farm and that is so great every one is working the planting going good Larson farm is the other and they are running behind keep up good work explanations are fantastic thank you
Hey Zach Johnson, this is Kason in Iowa, I am pretty familiar with farming because my grandpa owns one of the biggest farms in Iowa I have been watching everyone of your videos ever since you started
The TerraClear guys should offer to try it out on one of Andy's fields. In one of his recent videos, he had a whole bunch of rocks in several fields. He might just pick up a unit if it works well.
@@brentlytle2747 He's on FarmingFixingFabricating channel. I suspect he's extremely busy now with planting and the dairy parlor expansion. He posted a video about picking rocks earlier this month though. You can see what he's dealing with there.
I oddly enough I want to through a police academy back in the '90s and we had one officer we nicknamed the hook he has so had a bent shaft. We didn't even favor we had several female cadets once the rumor got around he became quite popular with a few of the girls.
Still weird to me seeing Onyx running tillage and grain carts on his own. Probably has something to do with the fact that here in Norway you have to be 16 before you can run almost any kind of motorized vehicle. Yes that also applies to private property. (Not to mention the fact that the insurance company wouldn't pay a dime if there was an accident and someone without a permit or license was the driver)
I always wonder what my grandpa would think is the craziest change in farming today. He farmed 80+ acres with a JD b and then a 520 and picked thousands of rocks by hand. Many times using dynamite to blow them up. Just amazing technology.
My father and grandfather were wheat farmers here in Australia up to the mid 80s and yea they would be totally lost in a modern tractor, though Dad would nod his head in approval at the caterpillar tracks on the tractors, always claimed it would be the best way to go, long before it became a thing.
Every video is entertaining!! I have followed from the start and have learned many life lessons through watching your channel!! 🤣😁 PS. Any coupon codes for merch?
I go in at 4 am every day. Beat tent stakes till usually 5 or 6. Come home and do farm s+3$ I'm currently bailing hay in the dark watching someone work. I think I have a problem.
Onyx should have to do tillage for a season with no auto steer and no GPS mapping, looking over his shoulder and running over lap and pulling the leaver to lift at the head lands He will appreciate what he is running now

Your son's voice is starting to sound like a young man sir, must be a very proud papa!
Loved this video. I must admit, it brought tears to my eyes when you picked your dad up after a long day in the fields. Working side by side with your dad has got to be one of the best privileges once can have. And with Onyx growing up and helping, it continues.
Seriously 😢
Onyx is going to be a great farmer , because of you he gets to learn all of the newest technology john deer has . Keep up the good job .
If something grabbed you by the sides and flew you away to the grasslands.....you'd pee too.
That's fair 😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
@@MillennialFarmerWhat's the rock picking guy cost?? Or how much for the rock bucket rock slinger lol
Oh Onyx!!!! Your voice is changin’ buddy!!! Love to hear it. You are growing into quite the farmer. ❤❤
Leaning to one side or the other is fine, but you really don't want a serious bend in your shank.
Zach, when there is time, I would love to see just some chatting time with your Dad, and what it means to him to have Onyx out there learning. I have to think as Grandpa it's a pretty proud thing to see.
I really enjoy your videos. I've noticed Jim hasn't been around lately hope he's doing well. Stay safe
He's doing well!!
Thanks for the update , we miss him !
Ya
I enjoy hearing Onyx talk. He so much sounds like your dad and has the mannerisms of your dad when he walks. Growing up, I know you guys are proud.
Glad to see all of you in the video. Hope you had a nice Memorial Day weekend
Millennial Farmer, Wow, this made my day brighter! Thank you!
Highlight of my day when I see a new video tnx.
Always LOVE seeing your Dad. I really admire him still working hard with his son and grandson!!
You guys are the best !!! Keep up the great work.
From an old rock picker, I say that picker on the skidsteer is awesome
So very great to see another video from the Millennial farmer can't wait for the next video Zack
Love watching you guys work the crops. I admire you guys for all the work you do. Thanks for all you do. God bless all the farmers.
Zach you are the one who got me into farming and I love your videos

Crazy to see Onyx is almost as tall as your dad! It’s been awesome to see your family, and channel grow over the years! Much love, from Oregon! 🐐
I really like your content. it's good to see how farmers are doing there work ❤❤

Father son and grandad working together it's going well and when harvest start your daughters will helping keep it in family with steve has trucking
Absolutely amazing that you have autostear. Would have been like science fiction 40 years ago. All the best 🇬🇧.
just a thing we went to on our farm is rather than diggers in the spring. use a VT tillage tool for field prep, they bring up much less rocks. keep ‘em under the dirt👍🏻
Yup, that indeed is what she said…
I hear that can prove to be very painful and has a long recovery time
Also Zach, it’s great to see you are being able to do something without struggling with gremlins on equipment!
enjoying your videos in Beautiful Toronto Canada
Hey Onyx, us old super truckers say "4-10" just for something different on the radio .Or just "TEEEEN"

“It sounds heavy.” Is such a strange sounding statement, but it’s so true!
Zach, cherish the time you have with your dad, I know he is proud of you!!
I enjoy your farming videos and watching your family during spring planting season.
Zach , I really enjoy your videos it takes me away from my very stressful life ! Ignore the haters and just be you ! F….. them !
That's it! I'm out! I can't do this anymore, till you release another video...
Thanks for always providing information and knowledge.
Crazy to think y’all are just now getting corn to come up and here in southeast Arkansas a field of corn is already tasseling out

You don't have to use the DEF fuel additive if your tractor is 75hp a lower. You only find those tractors on small farms.
Universal wisdom - "You never want a bent shank." 😁
That’s what she said
Nothing worse than when your implement gets a bent shank!
@@justkegan851🤣🤣🤣
I had a bent shank once. It was quite painful for about a week.
I learned that she won't bend the shank if she's not on top.
Wow!! Three generations working the farm, very cool!!

They make a chute for the pro boxes u can throw on to load a planter with the loader...s.i..distributing pro chute
Don't forget that when the frost comes out it pushes rocks up as well.
No good morning, hi to the dogs, nothing. Just jump right in to being crazy.
Jesus, Zach. You need to cut down on the coffee or increase the valium
I love your videos keep up the good work I watch your videos all the time
Always enjoy the planting season videos!! Tootles!!
Thanks
This is sooooo awesome watching how you all getting on with the Days work …3generations in one all working together
Awesome shirt saying. That's going to be a good seller.

The rock terminator, Nice!
Combination of deep tillage and frost moves rocks up. Especially if you get deep frost due to lack of snow
Not a farmer here but yall have some neat tech for farming
Love all ur videos Zack!! I was kiddo on a. Farm in Greenwood, wis. They lost in 88. Drought yr..
Awesome video as usual… pretty neat to see the technology of logging into a tractor from your cell!!
say good nite Gracy. Good nite Gracy! Probably to long ago for you to remember.
Many women prefer a bent shank, it hits in just the right way….especially when you are running the ripper real deep.
You have been watching too many Peyrones disease commercials!
Great video guys. Thank you so much
I oddly enough I want to through a police academy back in the '90s and we had one officer we nicknamed the hook he has so had a bent shaft. We didn't even favor we had several female cadets once the rumor got around he became quite popular with a few of the girls.
very smooth

The frost brings up a lot of rocks to.
Got some fast growing rocks there. Planted not long ago and already 10 inch or bigger. 😅

All your videos makes me want to farm more. I play farming simulator 22 to much lol.
3:23 he finally figured out how to turn a key start on a modern electronic ignition vehicle.
Amazing you could be planting AND helping Onyx at the same time. Farming sure has changed since I was a kid.
FaceTime works too lol
love the family farm operation
yes, farms grow rocks
I know its frost heaving and blah blah blah.... but growing them is way more fun
Love the new planter setup is there a special reason why you didn’t go with the IVT
Every video is entertaining!! I have followed from the start and have learned many life lessons through watching your channel!! 🤣😁

Love ur videos hope you have a great day
Terra clear bloke working in the most stable industry in the world everyone wants contract rock pickers
im a real one now. POSTED 1 MINUTE AGO
Just ordered myself the Farm around find put tshirt. Looks dope my guy
thank you
I reckon Terraclear has identified an excellent never-ending source of work.
I use your channel to understand my buddies when they talk farming.
Silly dogs.
Thanks, Becky.
Glad the rain is giving you guys a break, hopefully the crops will get seeded yet. Then lets hope for a bumper crop!!!!!!!!!!

I absolutely love this channel I’m not a farmer at all but the Larson farm shit shows up and it sucks this is great
Buckeye Arizona is the home of my sons Corry & Chris and my grandkids and daughter in laws😀
Onyx should have to do tillage for a season with no auto steer and no GPS mapping, looking over his shoulder and running over lap and pulling the leaver to lift at the head lands
He will appreciate what he is running now
I don't mind using mirrors in that situation. What's difficult is manually steering based on GPS guidance.
Thank you for your videos
I would say that shank has Peyronie’s disease. I’ve seen commercials for that, you can get that to straighten up.
It's crazy how fast kids grow. You gotta stop feeding Isla so she doesn't grow up anymore 😂
Wow 229 rocks brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "Go pound Rocks" at this rate you could open you own mini quarry.
