Tiny Tour | Guimerà Spain | A hillside medieval town from 11th century | 2020 Sep

Guimerà is a municipality and village in the comarca of Urgell in the province of Lleida in Catalonia, Spain. The village, the only settlement in the municipality, is situated on the banks of the Corb river. The main part of the village is built up a hillside on the north bank of the river.
Guimerà is noted for its well-preserved mediaeval layout and limestone buildings, which are densely clustered together on the hillside, linked by narrow streets, stairways, and tunnels. Much of the town wall and several of its gates still remain.
The main economic activity of Guimerà municipality is dry farming, principally barley and other cereals, but also olives, almonds and grapes. And it is not surprising that many people have chosen Guimerà as their second home.

One of the most beautiful towns I have ever visited... You must visit and get lost in Guimera streets :) In August they organize one of the most authentic medieval markets in the world...

I finally found time for 'my portion of B&A' from last week. As always, great video again. Amazing residential village with stone buildings and narrow streets. A place that has its own atmosphere and incalculable historical value. Excellent view from the castle tower to the beautiful landscape around.
In a few minutes B&A showed everything interesting. Well thank you.

Thanks Adam, we wanted to film this town for a long time. finally did. I just really hope that castle was not that much damaged, sadly there're many ruins like this in some other towns around.

@@BABeenHere, In Slovakia, we have most of the castles in ruins. In recent years a remediation work has been done to preserve at least those ruins.

Espectacular!
La primera cegada que "pujo" fins dalt de la torre sense suar.
Perfecte per a mostrar el poble a qui no ha vingut encara i també pels que hi som habitualment.

I think they're pretty modern looking inside, there's a museum in this town in which you can see its interior(www.guimera.info/museu), so different from the medieval look from outside.
