- Can you believe the last generation 4Runner was around for 15 years!? Toyota has FINALLY completely redesigned it and a TON has changed. Has it changed for the better though. Today we take a look at the most affordable 4Runner you can buy in 2025.

Bang on review 😊 ! I own and drive 2024 4Runner and I am opened minded about the new 6th generation 4Runner. The basic 4Runner is very appealing .
Great video as usual! Really nice to see a review of the base version.
I was blown away with my baseline 2024 Tacoma SR, feels state of the art and amazing to drive in comparison to my 2012 Tundra that I kept for the bigger towing. I mostly do not feel like I was missing anything compared to the higher TRD trims for my daily driver needs and casual off-road for hunting and fishing. I was orginally going to get a Maverick and happy with a nit bigger truck. I did not find TRD versions worth the extra expense with my current budget and needs. Maybe in 4-years I will consider a 4Runner next.
There's definitely huge value in the SR comparatively.
“About as easy as learning Calc 3”. I’m officially triggered and having flashbacks now. 😂😂😂
It’s the easiest one! You already learn the new concepts in Calc 1 and 2 and just need to apply it across multiple dimensions.
So the base SR5 comes with heated front seats?
I’ve watched a few reviews today and I’m confused because every SR5 I’ve seen on video has heated seats but the Toyota site does not list heated seats on the SR5. Did your vehicle have an option that wasn’t called out?
I was told by Toyota they all have heated front seats, but as you said looking at the website that conflicts with their specs. They may have told me incorrectly. The white car alleged a $40k msrp and did include heated seats. So either they didn’t show us an accurate build sheet with msrp or their website is wrong. I’m guessing the former.
Thanks for covering the base. With the 4x4 it makes sense, still expensive. Sadly the insane TRD Offirad and Sport prices increases make them out of reach. Does the 4x4 have a locking rear diff
I'm not sold yet, maybe wait until refresh if there's any engine problems or issues.
If there's engine issues, that means there will be issues with the tacoma and the LC too.
@jcjohnson0 Tacoma have transmission issues already.
@ Then that means this 4runner is no good either
We need to see 300000mi+ on the odometer
Does it have ATRAC and Hill descend control?
You get ATRAC if you opt for the 4x4 option, but no downhill assist until you get to higher off-road trims.
You mentioned the SR5 is equipped with heated seats, but I am being told it does not. I also just looked at an SR5 in Boise and that SR5 4x4 did NOT have heated seats. Hmmm?

For what it’s worth, they had two sr5 at this event and both had heated seats.
@@EatSleepDrive ok, thank you! I sure hope they do. I am on the waiting list, so will try to circle back with the dealership.
I love this 2Runner.
I like the sr5 just wish it was a little cheaper or came with the bigger screen like it’s 2025 a bigger screen isn’t 8gs
They start putting that lip under the front bumper now for the 4runner.
4runner SR5 seems like a pretty good value, espeically since a lot of features are standard. The price jump from sr5 to TRD sport or off-road is a big much imo.
The tiny screen ruins the interior, it’s so ugly similar to the 1958 LC, it’s like the first eye sore u see when u open the interior.
Yeah.. It's dumb.
They hold the better electronics hostage until you spend over 52k.
It’s crazy how much of a fit and finish my 2017 4runner looks. I cant believe this nonsense tablet look🙈
My experience with road tripping is that you have more stuff than the MAX designers calculated. Therefore, the base engine for me. Thankfully, there are two cargo area designs. The bean counters could have insisted otherwise.
Very good point. Would be a shame if even the non-turbo had the compromised rear storage area too.
Does it have A-TRAC?
If you option an sr5 with 4x4 yes, it comes standard with a-trac.
People give the new 4Runner a few years to see how good is. Too early to see. Specially with a new transmission and turbo. I’m still keeping my 2024 until further notice.
Fuel tank needs to be 21 or 23 gallon. 19 is passenger car size
It is missing a N/A V6.
For 40 grand why would I get this instead of a Model Y. Better features, better performance, fuel economy, lower maintenance…
Because it's not a truck?
neither is the cheapest 4Runner.
Wait… 20mpg from a turbo 4cyl!?!? WTF!?! My SR5 2005 (20yearold) gets 18.1 mpg with a front leveling kit!!! GTFOH😂💀🤣
Man, they RUINED the 4Runner…
😂 that just absurd. it’s better in every way. You can make an argument about powertrain longevity but jury still out on that.
@ better in what way? The proven unreliable powertrain that’s way over complicated? The horrible resale that comes with it? Or straight up the god awful design? Not to mention the huge jump in price from the previous generation.
@@dudeyo4579yeah….Toyota is going to make an unreliable product at the Tahara plant……you’re delusional.
@@johnt1115 this is the problem. People are fooled by their past reliability. Doesn’t matter if it’s the best plant in the world. A faulty design is a faulty design
Toyota is to much money no thanks I will keep my gen 5
lol suddenly 42K before tax and destination is the every family? why were the bigots complaining about eggs then?
Pretty wild average new car price is over $45k now. Hard to fathom how people afford modern cars.
Eggs and bigots…serious case of TDS
Total brain rot. Somehow find a way to make a video on a 4Runner about Trump.
