When I was on CQ with a new E5 we both ended up falling asleep at the desk. We woke up at the same time scared AF. But once we realized nobody came through we started laughing.
I called myself sipping on something at 18, on duty 😫 hell the CQ Sgt was too smh. So I had way too much, and passed out in the day room. My home girl was on duty too. I popped up at like 0500, that’s dangerous seeing how some folks liked to come in super early before formation. I almost had a heart attack when I saw what time it was. I jumped up so fast, they were both looking at me like 🙄 😳apparently all of us were knocked out and just woke up smh. CQ Sgt was still drunk smh. It was a mess, I was so glad they took me off duty because I was a armorer 😂 Our CSM liked to do stupid stuff like go around and check everyone duty post to see what folks were doing and snap pictures, then call a formation to show everyone. I was praying he didn’t come through and we didn’t know it. I was nervous until I went back to work 😂 All kind of stress came from just being in the military and trying to survive 😂
I habe literally seen this exact thing happpen multiple times. There os a very good chance this is real. Having gotten a summarized, company, and field grade Article 15 over a period of 4 years, i know that stuff happens and they aren't joking around.

I remember doing maneuvers in the Artic and we had someone fall asleep on stove watch (when you sleep, 1 guy is stove watch to a tent group, 2 are in the trench line on guard and the other 7 are sleeping, every hour the stove guy would wake the next rotation up 15mins prior so they could get ready and relieve the trench line and the next stove watch would take over, stove watch was just in the name, you’d have a stove going inside the tent and you’d watch it to make sure it didn’t go out and that the smoke was exhausting out properly. So you watched it so everyone didn’t either inhale fumes and died or it goes out and it’s -55•C so you’d be forcing the other 7 to wake up when they didn’t have too). They got every single extra duty thrown at them and also forced the vehicles extracting us to stop just 13km shy of the base so we could ruck the rest of the distance because of him, a 13km ruck with full gear and this was winter gear so snowshoes and all but it’s about 2hrs depending how fast the pacer (typically the section command) wanted to go. So in Canada it’s very difficult for a higher up to single a soldier out nowadays and punish them for something like that on an individual level. So they’d want us lower ranks to do the justice system by ourselves by punishing the entire section so we would want to punish him later on in turn for making the other 99% suffer because of his actions. Worked like a charm however harsh it seems to civilians.
