I'm offended by that comment!! It's my unreligious god-given right to be perpetually offended!! lol But so true...Kev's music will always be funny to me. Even his latest work is still great, and he seems like such a nice, down-to-earth character in interviews. The WORLD needs this comedy more than ever! :-)

It's funny how Kev's music videos turn out looking EXACTLY how you'd imagine them, right down to the little details.
A friend of my Grandmother went to Australia in 1963 ,She got a job at a Hospital near Alice springs, The photos she took of these Dancehalls like in the Video were exactly the Same.
Three years she was working in Northern Territories, She came back to the UK And got Started a job at the Royal London Hospital, She said even though it was colder and the pay wasn't as good it was 100% Safer. No Snakes etc spiders etc in the Toilet Under the Car
She once went to meet another Nurse who was treating someone who worked at a pub in a small town in the Ourback .She said she'd wait in the Bar Ordered a drink and there was complete silence from the 40 or so men in the Bar "You're a Woman you can't buy a drink here said the Bar man
She quickly replied to one of them "But you let me examine you're rash on your testicles last week So serve me my Beer !!
The whole pub burst into laughter, And she got served every time she went in the Pub until she left Australia.

I actually really like the nostalgic aspect of this clip. It's probably unintended, but it was made in '87 in reminiscence of the "dance halls" as they were at just about the end of their hey-day in the late 50's or early 60's (judging by the mock 60's fashions of the women, the 50's car, the Menzies poster and Union jack on the wall, and "God save the queen" played at the end) ... by people who would have seen it first hand, even if they were kids at the time. To them the film clip is just a joke, a funny song set in the previous generation's era, but it's kind of nostalgic to me now. You see the old weatherboard dance halls, like this one, rotting away and disappearing now.
My mum was a teenager when Menzies was PM, and she dressed just like these girls.
Things go in cycles, everything is electronics these days, esp soulless commercial music, people were going to dance clubs and raves during the House scene late 80s/90s, govt closed them down due to the communal aspect of DIY and small record electronic music.
Same as govt is wary of the folk and traditional scene, they had assets infiltrating and observing UK folk clubs in the 60s and 70s.
kev's humor is timeless & good for a laugh.

People didn't take themselves seriously and everyone had fun with situations. Very Australian
