You talked about private prayer. This man is preaching. Ummm.. Jesus preached in public. Private prayer is the reflection of personal intimacy with God. We all should have a public, corporate prayer life and private. If the Mormons ridicule us for celebratory preaching so be it. We sorrow for them in being lost in sin.
Someone said, "If I were God..." Well if were God there would be no reason for anyone to get excited about praising God. I would bet the farm the same applies to you. I haven't read where God asks specifically for this kind of praise but He does require bold and unashamed praise which is what this is. Neither have I read where He prohibits it. God created us all different. You praise the way you think is right and refrain from criticizing others who are different.
